I don't think you need be concerned that 30 did not hold - with such a good result from that you can be confident that the LM will do more.

I looked in Rehman and found the following advice regarding Asaf: Increase in the flow of urine is a sign of favourable action of the remedy.
Foods to be avoided, Beer, Fats, Pork

For future reference with the case:
Complementary remedies - Caust, Hecla, Puls, Syph

Followed well by: Abies-n [cramps of the oesophagus when Asaf fails], Chin, Merc, Puls, Valer [globus hystericus when Asaf fails]

I recall from a recent thread that David JK mentioned a keynote of Valer as Hunger with Nausea so I suppose it can't be that one.

The only thing I would like to add is that I don't use LMs and if I had a patient who responded but only for a short time I would also repeat at the same potency first but would then go up to 200 and then to 1M if needed.

Thanks for the congrats. I did it by taking into account miasmic causes, which is something that most homeopaths don't frequently do. Also, I had a different description of the symptom than the one presented here. The description I read was more down to earth, focusing on the actual symptoms rather than a 'psychologizing' of them, which can complicate the picture unnecessarily.

Thank you for your kind words. I, too, am confident that the Asafoetida will completely cure this symptom with follow-up treatment. It is unrealistic to expect that one dose of 30C will completely heal something so deep and severe.

And Ricky,

I will be prescribing in the way you describe here (for the time being) because the LM is not readily available in the States. We will give another dose of 30C and then go to 200C until we get the LM. I prefer the LM's because I know from personal experience that they work much more deeply, quickly, and gently than the high potency centesimals.

I haven't been following this thread but did it a few minutes back when someone else mentioned it somewhere else. And all I can say is "Excellent work done". The analysis and the interpretation of symptoms was real good. Wonderful.I hope the spirit that everyone has shown in this thread will continue.
