A bit late I know. But this can save lives.

Give it up, stop suppressing the body's natural release of toxins and minimise the risk of breast cancer.

Yes spread the word, I gave up about a month ago and one of my concerns was that I would smell - but I'm glad to say I don't (well not so anyone else would notice). - Had a few lumps come up since under each armpit but from reading other posts this seems to be normal.

Thumbs up

I agree 100%! And, don't forget that Anti-Perspirants are even worse than deordorants, with regard to suppression.

Some of us here in the West use the Body Crystal - it is natural and does eliminate odors Since I use the the crystal, the endless itching under my armpits has stopped completely !

I say give up wearing bras, too.I've never worn a bra in my life and mine have never fallen(breastfeeding 2 1/2 years as well). And how about shaving legs...might the blade have aluminum in it?

Question

I think we went over this some time ago, but can someone please remind me again what's dangerous about deodorants? (I know that antiperspirants contain aluminum & suppress sweating, but deodorants?)
P.S.-Claudia, what's a Body Crystal?

RF -
It's a crystal-like looking stick made from mineral salts and ammonium alum. It is odor free and you use it by wetting the surface and applying like a deodorant stick. It does not contain any aluminium nor chlorohydrate nor other nasty stuff. It's quite spendy, about $5 / stick, but unless you drop it and it shatters, it'll last a very long time. (years). It's available in natural food stores here on the US West Coast.

I do beleive that crystals were not recommended either due to the Alum content. It constricts the pores thus suppressing sweat flow.
Linda...re: your lumps. Are you using baking soda? I got a lump from using too concentrated of baking soda...when I quit and used only a very dilute bit...it went away.
