See Divina, those are exactly the things I didn't understand or know much about Ars...having not studied that particular remedy yet.

I'm not saying it isn't indicated, but now am more curious as to why GM thinks Tub....I'm sure he must have a reason for this..so I would like to hear it, before I give him anything else.

(I'm taking it that the Sulph was okay earlier..esp in low potency?).

Anyhow, I do very much appreciate all input. I do want to give him something if it is really needed and I think he does probably need something - as I haven't ever seen him this knocked back by any bug or flu before...
He is sleeping a lot..and was mainly complaining of tiredness, couldn't move..just took too much energy etc...all the above symptoms.

I just want to make sure which remedy is the best...

Thanks for the info, cuz it does help me better understand Ars.

Hi Lisa,

Is he complaining of really severe pains, as if his bones were breaking? Just curious (and wanna rule out eup-perf for sure)

No he isn't Divina..thanks. He just said his muscles were aching like a typical fluey feeling.

Gm is saying TUB (he answered an email)..but there wasn't any explanation..so I really don't know what to do.

I wouldn't hazard a guess either - as I feel my husband's case is really at a point where I need to make the right decision.

I recall being told that these acutes often lead us to the deeper acting remedy for the more chronic problems. I'm wondering why Tub in this instance? That is what I'm pondering now.....

I no longer want to take blind prescriptions without understanding at least some reasoning behind it. Especially a deep acting remedy like Tub. And especially since he is nervous to take anything without me being able to say why he needs it. This is my dilemma. He won't take anythign unless I can explain it a little bit to him.

GM - if you see this...could you please offer up why the Tub is needed so I can tell him with some integrity why he needs it now? (He recalls our two week hell-ride on Tub, and he isn't jumping to take it unless he's convinced..and you know he WILL listen to reason!).

Anyhow..thanks everyone!!! Much appreciated once again..sorry this is dragging!

"Then, under the rubric HEAD, Pain, heat, after the; Ars2, calc, carb-v, Eup-per3, Nat-m3"

Hi Divina, I don't understand how this rubric applies. His head isn't particularly hot...it is mainly his torso - and the exposed parts are coolish. Dry though. He is covered up while sleeping (lying down). Even with the fever he has remained covered.

I just checked him - and he is sweating a tiny amount on the parts he is lying on....

Does any of this make a diff?
Sorry I wasn't very clear about this earlier.

Hi Lisa,

Maybe to clarify-you mentioned the fever came, the headache came-hence the rubric HEAD, pain, heat, after the; or the head pain came after the heat (fever) in his body, not necessarily just his head. You may not have meant that these two symptoms came in this order, but that's how it reads in your post. If this isn't the order of the symptoms, then nevermind that rubric.

Personally, I vote for Ars also for this acute, especially being a GE for a virus with these symptoms. I agree with you, would need a good explanation for using Tub at this point.

Good luck, hope he's feeling much better soon.

Hi again Lisa,

Yes, sorry, should have been more clear--"heat" is the old word in the repertories for fever.

Any change yet? Any word on the Tub?

Hi - thanks KMS and Divina.

Actually, I had no response on why for the Tub until I woke this morning, but John went to work (still not 100%) and when he came home, I expected he would be worse...but he is 85% better (his words).

So, since there is improvement, I will leave it then.
No fever anymore.
Thirst is back to normal almost.
No nausea. And the headache is gone today.
He didn't vomit anymore after Sulph plus the diarrhea is calming down..still a little bit loose stool and more frequent than normal - but no more bad cramps - and less frequency.
He ate breakfast this morning and was able to tolerate it okay...

I do recall when waking early this morning (in my foggy haze of half sleep) that the bed was quite wet from all the sweating he did last night..so I guess the worst is over.

Thanks everyone for all the input, help, suggestions and making me think. I apologise if I was soo muddled. I'm just relieved I'm not faced with what to give now and he is better.

Best wishes to everyone.
Lisa
