Hi again folks,
I've just been given a new remedy by my homeopath and I've been told to stay away from a few things like coffee, other homeopathic remedies, etc. but there is one thing I dont understand. Why am I not suppose to have any dental work, especially drilling, while I'm on a remedy? Could someone enlighten me? TIA strillo. |

Hi All - I've heard all of the above, and that novocaine (being of a camphorous nature) can affect a remedy's action. But I also just read something interesting that stated that because of all of the acupuncture meridians in the mouth (one under each tooth) that any drilling and filling and vibrating can affect the vibrational aspects of a remedy. No one has done any "experimental research" on this but it's worth considering.

Dawn, that would make a lot of sense! I think acupuncture actually works along the same idea as homeopathy, in that the meridians are targetted to stir the "vital force" (and homeopathy does this on a much deeper dynamic level, with remedies). So it seems likely to interfere.
I've often thought acupuncture is quite effective, but it can get in the way of homeopathic dynamics. Perhaps this is what is behind the dental work sabotage... Incidentally, this did happen to a patient of mine: and she made the connection on her own--she noted her pains made a faint return after seeing the dentist, and remembered that the dentist was something to consider during the treatment! But everything was fine with another dose of her remedy. I just always thought that the stress of dental surgery--any surgery or trauma--would cause a crisis of some sort, and the remedy might need to be given again to offset the interference. Divina |

Hi Divina - Good point and I think you're right on there, any kind of dental work is traumatic so will have some type of effect on a remedy's action. Having needles and hands and chemicals and drills (not to mention PAIN)in such close proximity to my brain is traumatic to say the least! It always takes me a week or two to recover from a dental visit.
