Unhappy

Hi All,
I guess I posted too soon, about my son.

He didn't go to school yesterday, as he said he had a sore throat. I was a little worried he might be coming down w/ what my daughter had. Then he seemed fine as the day wore on .

When he got up today - he seemed okay too, but as the day wore on - he complained again of a sore throat. Each time, I checked his glands - and there was only slight hard/swelling/lumps.

This evening - we went out to supper (it's a national holiday here). When we first sat down, he said his head was hurting and he felt he was going to vomit. He looked unwell/tired - and we asked him if he wanted to lie down (across two chairs...supper was about to be served) - he said, "No" and asked for a pen to draw with. He drew for a little while - supper came - he wouldn't eat or drink...then he asked to lie down next to me on the extra chairs (cushy ones ). He fell asleept - and we ate quickly and came home.

By the time we got out to the car (we were at the restaurant for less than an hour!) he was really hot.

His fever is now 102F.
He complained of sore throat - refused to eat/drink. Glands are bigger - more swollen than two hours ago! And, sore to touch.
Eyes are CLEAR - no redness like his sister had.
HEADACHE - he complained about numerous times..and just now when I put him in his bed, he was almost asleep, but had enough energy to tell me his head is hurting. Location - he pointed to his forehead.

Some coughing when I picked up him. Not coughing since I put him in his bed, though.

In looking at him, there is nothing noticeable - just that he looked sapped of energy and very tired-looking...almost listless.

Please, I need help with this. I'm afraid his fever is going to keep going up. He went from no fever - to slight - to 102F now - in less than 1.5 hours.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lisa

Hi Lisa

Sorry it's only me. All I can offer is encouragement.. I've been watching since about 7pm and willing for s.o. to reply to you.

It's the worst thing in the world to sit and watch your own child get ill and it's hard to keep a clear head.

But you know what, Lisa I think you can do it on your own!!! You have the skills it's just hard to be detached.

So having said that I'm sure someone will help soon...

Deb

HI,
THANKS SO MUCH all of you.

Actually,I went offline, and tried to rep his case...and came up with Bell.

I was scared to give a high dose, cuz I'm so inexperienced...so I gave him 1 dose of 30x.
Dry..no sweat (which i kind of expected seeing as the China broke his fever within minutes when he had Malaria!)...ugh!

What I looked up - was Head, Throat, Fever..and everything kept coming up either Bell, Bry, Lach and some others.

The thing is NONE of his mentals this evening fit any of those.
He was HAPPY - a bit quieter than usual, but was playing "EYE- SPY" with us in the car. Cried when he didn't get a turn (got answer wrong)..but only lasted a second...was reasonable about it. Nothing else 'mental' to go on....

On thing I remembered just now: yawning at the dinner table tonight..JUST before he HAD to lie down..he began yawning - one after another..and this was weird, cuz he had a NAP this afternoon..and it was only 8pm - and when he has a nap - he is NEVER sleepy at 8pm. Ho hum. Don't know if this is significant or not..but he never yawns....at least I don't remember ever seeing him yawn before.

I hope Bell was it. Also, the other thing that made me sort of think Bell was okay, is that Bell is the acute of Calc...
question: does this apply to Calc Phos too?? That is the main rem he was on..until the China, then Arnica for the teeth the other day...
Forgive my scattered thoughts...
SH!T..seems like both my children are getting one problem after another, this week .

Hope to hear some feedback..thanks everyone.
Lisa

PS. Hoppitt, in answer to your question: no, there is no stiff neck that I could ascertain. He does have a few red spots to the right of his lower lip...that came up this evening...I noticed them when we were out to supper tonight.
Other than that..coloring is good...normal...but I noticed BOTH cheeks were red and hot!

And, if you touched any part (face, body, hands, feets, even toes and fingers)...all are HOT.

Bell..I think?? Should I let 30x run..or give 200??
Thanks..sorry for the scattered not-well-thought-out posts ....
All help and encouragment is very much appreciated .
Lisa

Ask him if he wants some lemonade - that craving is often a key that confirms Bell.

Is his face red now?

Bell has hot head and face and cold body, especially cold extremities.

Does he want to be wrapped up warm?

What is his temperament like at present?

hi Lisa

Hope it does the trick!

i felt like you must do the other day when my granddaughter was ill. It's difficult sometimes when you are so close to the patient.
Unless the mentals in an acute are so strong or a definite change from normal I think its better to go on the concomitant physicals/ generals especially in the case of a child .

thinking of you!

I tried to wake him...he won't wake ..just nods his head and rolls over.

So, can't ask him about lemondade now. But, he did ask for an Orange Fanta at supper and drank a sip or two before lying down...??

His WHOLE body is HOT. And, I just checked him again...and it is still hot..all over. From head to toe.

He does not appear to want to be uncovered. He is NOT throwing the blanket off...I covered him to avoid a chill, in case he sweats. (He is covered with a very light blanket.)

Temp is about 103F at present.
thanks..L
