Hi VS

Helleborus Niger is antidoted by Camphora, and Cinchona (the potentized remedies in both cases). No other antidotes are listed.

Sulphur MAY be antidoted by Camphora.

Got this information from Boericke.

Hi VS-
I don't know why you need to antidote..so I will include extra info so you can try to figure out whatever it is you're doing with those cases.

From Rehman's Encyclopedia of Remedy Relationships:

Sulphur
Remarks:
When disease is very weakening and emaciating, it is preferable to replace Sulph by Sul-i.

Young sulphurics tend to be heated but in old age Sulph is often chilly.

In acute otitis media dangerous and therefore contraindicated.

Use Sulph cautiously where tubercles have deposited in lungs. It is dangerous if given too high in last stages of phthisis (tuberculosis).

Chronic conditions which are the result of pneumonia, where the patient had before been troubled with a chest complaint, in which we will find slow resolution, lingering cough with expectoration, emaciation, night sweats, (not tuberculosis), yet with a cachetic state ultimately ending in phthisis, be extremely careful how you give Sulph and especially how you repeat it or you may cause a fatal aggravation.

Sulp in high potency is dangerous to give when there is a structural disease in organs that are vital.

Often useful to rouse the reactive power of the system when carefully selected remedies fail to produce a favourable effect, especially in acute diseases.

Constitutional remedy in all diseases of blood.

Reaction remedy when organism is not completely free from chronic poisonings.

Sulph may be needed when there is not the expected response to the apparently indicated remedy or when Psora hinders the action of well selected remedies, especially in acute diseases, Psor in chronic diseases.

Sulph is of great value in any disease, acute or chronic when improvement seemed to have reached stand still or when relapses threaten, with on exception and that exception is tuberculosis especially at the age of puberty. Sulph may be found hlepful in absence of any very obvious indications for a particular remedy.

A state of general weak reaction.

Sulph is very dangerous in nervous states with confirmed sclerosis.

Before Sulph 200 and above is prescried it should be ascertained whether this patient had itch, skin eruption or ringworm, these are likely to come back in violent form.

Sulph is often necessary as a foundation for better action of other remedies in chlorosis.

It has been described as the homeopathic centrifuge, driving to the surface deep seated toxins, the remedy of chronic toxicosis.

Sulp is phlegmatic brother of Phos.

When there is fear of agg. in acute diseases of respiratory system in less resistant tubercular child, it is to be substituted by Sul-i.

Ailments from abuse of metals generally.

Sulph helps all other remedies in rheumatism, acute or chronic.

Should not be repeated too often in chronic cases.

In cases of leucoderma Sulph brings back white patches which were healed, so beware of it. It should be used very carefully.

Sulph, Calc, Lyc form trio that has done more curing of chronic diseases than any other three remedies.

Calc in the cycle may be replaced by Calc-i while Lyc may be replaced by Sep and Tub; Sulph, Sars, Sep, form trio for portal congestion and skin complaints and for oxaluria and calculus formation.

Sul, Sep and Lyc are the triangle poles for portal hypertension.

Sulp, Calc and Luyc are the trangle poles for anti-psoric remedies.

Basic remedy for carbonnitrofen, Sulpur, Phosphoriker, Choleric and Psoric constitution.

Sulp acts best when given in morning.

Nux-v may be given at night and Sulph in the morning when their complementary action is desired.

Duration: 40-60 days

Inimical:
Aur-m, Calc (Before Sulph), Merc (Itching and burning in vulva after prescription of Sulph for genital eczema), Puls, Rhus-t, Thuj.
Sulp follows Lyc well but Lyc does not follow Sulph.
Merc (Before Sulph), Nux-m, Ran-b.

ANTIDOTES:
ACON (Mitigates the excessive action of Sulph and does not destroy the favourable effects), Aloe, Apis (Agg of certain cutanrous inflammatory diseases, also Canth, Crot-t, Rhus-t, Merc), Ars, Asc-t (The tincture relieved when Sulph had aggravated in a case of chronic intestinal disease), Calc, Camph, Caust (Abuse of Sulph in scabies), Cham, Chin (Centrifugal action of Sulph), Coff, Con (Swollen glands), Crot-t (skin symtpoms), Hyper, Iod, Lach, MERC, Nat-m (Emaciation produced by high potencies of Sulph), Nit-ac, Nux-v (Over action of Sulph), PULS (Repeated doses, when abused to cleanse the blood, when Sulphhas been used externally and internally to suppress itch, itching agg in varicose veins by repeated doses of Sulph), Rhus-t, Sel (When itch is checked by Sulph, moist itching spots and tingling of skin after local treatment of eruptions especially by Sulph), SEP (Itching after abuse of Sulph especially in women), Sil, Sol-v (Checks the medicinal agg caused by Sulph in hepatic dysfuntion), Sulph (Sulph in potency eliminates the effects of crude Sulphur), Thuj, X-rays (Over use of Sulph).

VS - I don't think Sulph is that easy to antidote - but it seems that there are ways to lessen aggro - if you're confident about the details of the case (pathology - cause, etc.).

Now, for
Helleborus niger:
Miasm: Psor
Temperament: CHOLER, Melan, phleg
Duration: 20-30 days
Foods to be avoided: Alcohol, Fats, Hot food, Vegetables, Warm food.

Encouraged: Cold food.

Complementary remedies: Bell, Nat-m, Puls, Zinc.

Inimical: nothing listed

ANTIDOTES: Camp, Chin.

Followed well by:
Apis (When torpor sets in, sudden crying of children, also during sleep, albuminuria after scarlatine when Hell fails), Art-v, Bell, Bry, Calc-p (hydrocephalus), Chin, Cupr-ars (Highly oedematous nephritis where best selected remedy failed in one case), Iodof (hydrocephalus following tubercular meningitis), Lyc, Merc, Nux-v, Phos, Puls, Rhus-t, Sep, Sulph (Meningitis), Tub (Acute cerebral or basilar meningitis with threatened effusion, nocturnal hallucinations, wakes from sleep frightened, screaming, when Hell fails), Zinc (Meninfitis when reflexes are abolished, cerebrospinal meningitis when Hell has aroused the patient and established a convalescence and there comes lack of reaction. He does not do well, his stomach is weak and he vomits everything, even a spoonful of water, when this prostration and unconsciousness is not reached by Hell, he goes on in a profound stupor, it seems nothing can arouse him. No action from bowels, passes his urine unconsciously, when Hell fails and patient lies as if dead).

Well, I hope some of this helps you, VS.

I didn't add the Followed well by for Sulph - as it would've been a book and JonH might've thrown me off here for taking up so much space ...

Let me know if you need anything else...I'm happy to add it here if you need it.

Lisa

Red face

Thank you Divina for your help... but I have to confess that because of my bad English I wasn´t clear enaugh about what I exactly meant... what a really wanted to know is: if someone takes Helleborus or Sulph, what food or drink should they avoid? Thank you again and sorry for the missunderstanding...

Well, I begin to type in this message before I saw the new inputs...I´m so slow...
OK, thank you Lisa, and thank you, Divina.

ARe you REALLY supposed to avoid ALL those things on Sulph? Or just the ones in bold with consideration for the rest (if they aggravate complaints?)
