Cool

You know what VS? I'm thinking Sulph might just be a good opener - considering all I've read in Chronic Diseases of late. Especially since she's had no prior Homeopathic treatment.

Has she had allopathic drugs before? If so, maybe the Sulph is the best - as it will certainly bring stuff to the surface. I know some may not agree on this, but it makes sense to me, at the point i'm at with my own studies..but if anyone can offer more info - then I'm all for it!

The reason I'm thinking this is because Hahnemann obviously felt it was important to take miasm's into account. I'm not saying Sulph is THE ONLY way to start - but Hahnemann said that most cases, when viewing from chronic - would start with Sulph - unless I misunderstood. So, since she is showing some Sulph symptoms - maybe it would be okay to use it - see what surfaces next - and it might just be Sepai or one of the others you mentioned.

I'd be interested to hear what others have to say as well, though - cuz I'm NOT that experienced - but this certainly is a good teether - so thanks for bringing it here, VS!!

Thumbs up

Thanks Lisa for your point of view. How are you studying? When you read the Chronic Des. do you have some tutorial (? is it the right word? I found it in the dictionary...) ?Or you just try to understand it the best you can? Iīm interested too, because Iīm not pleased with my school so I feel I have to study more on my own... So, thatīs why Iīm glad for every little info I can get. Can you imagine, I have my exam in May next year? I know, GM, you told someone that you are not teaching for free, but People really appreciate some extra teaching- I know I do- because I donīt want to be the one who gives Homeopathy a bad name but with so little knowledge I canīt do otherwise...But in spite of everything I feel lucky that I have realized that, because some in our class seems really satisfied and not aware of how big Homeopathy is...(And according to my teacher Iīm one of the bests in her school, so if I feel stupid, how smart are the others? Itīs really sad, I know, not for my sake, but for the patientsī ...) So, thatīs why I need good teachers and fellow students

Hi VS,
I study by correspondence with the School of Homeopathy in Devon (UK) - will complete my studies there once I've completed year 2. Actually, I feel a bit alone with my studies sometimes, and that is why I visit here so often. Just about to open a forum just as you did! As soon as my list comes - then it will start...can't wait either, cuz I think it will give a sense of commraderie then........

Go to this link and you can download Chronic Diseases free...maybe it will give you some more to think about - some insight.
http://www.homoeopathic.freeserve.co.uk/ZIP/c.zip

That link is for the downloadable zip file (Word format!) so it should be easy to install and open. Make sure you click install - if that option comes up (esp if you are using Netscape)..otherwise you should be able to unzip later. Although, since I use Netscape, I had some trouble when I first tried to save to disk and THEN open later - it was all gibberish.
Went back and downloaded again, later - and just installed it immediately and then it worked just fine.

Hope this helps .
Lisa

PS..no I did not have a tutorial or lecture to refer to when I read CD - I simply read and re-read it - and everytime I read it - I seem to understand it a little better each time.

It isn't covered just yet in my studies...I've jumped ahead a little bit...but it is not a difficult read really. I probably enjoyed reading this more than some of the other texts!!

You say you do your exam next May...will you be graduated then? Gee - I wish I was that far on!! Can't take it all in fast enough, but the learning seems to take its own pace, no matter how much I read and study...and I can't complain, really - I feel I'm taking it all at my own pace and really pleased thus far.

Happy reading!
Lisa

Arrow Hot Flushes

I went through the various symptoms mentioned. On repertorising I got Calc Carb as the 1st medicine with sulph as runner up.
The symptoms I have taken are:
Fear of high places & poverty; Brooding; Grief; Extravaganza; Squanders; squanders on oneself, but; boaster; desire for company; solitude fond of; Company aversion to, Heat flushes of during climacteric period; Perspiration sleep during; Right sided; foot burning, uncovering them; Food & Drinks Desires for: Sweet, Chocolate, Olive, Pastries and dislike for Milk.
I feel Calc Carb will give relief. my method is giving 1 pill preferably in 3-4 spoons of water. wait for 12 hours. If no reaction observed give repeat one more dose as above and then stop the medicine. This should help the patient. The potency I use is 30 or 1m.
