Hi Anna I didn't want to continue to interrupt Brian's post with my questions? I was wondering when you get mercury fillings removed does it matter how they are removed? I have read that you should go to a holistic dentist to do this or does it really matter just so long as you get it out?

dessie, it matters a great deal that you go to a dentist who is specially skilled in removal of amalgam. This is because the procedure can, if done improperly, cause a dangerous amount of mercury to be released into the body during the removal.

I had mine replaced many years ago by a "normal" dentist and small amounts of mercury remain in the teeth, which wouldn't have happenned with a specialist I should think.

Hmmm. I didn't know that. I called my insurance company today and they said to have it submitted as they may pay for it but my dentist is a "regular" dentist although he agreed once he would do this. He did this once for an MS patient...removed the fillings. Not safe enough with him then? Cause I'll have to track someone else down and with my luck they won't be a part of our insurance plan.

Removal of mercury fillings must be done by someone experienced in this and using a "rubber damm "

However despite the most careful removal and Homeopathic assistance many people still do not recover from their problems

Maybe their Homeopaths are not that skilled/ experienced >>>>>I dont know

Yes Barb. Let me know. I just hate to go into Chicago though because of the traffic etc. I saw on that other link there's a doctor in Bloomington. I'd rather go there so I'll check with her as well. Thanks for that link too.

You know Pat I read about that rubber dam after I posted with Anna. When I was in my thirties this new dentist I went to after we made an out of state move removed all my mercury fillings and replaced them in a matter of a few weeks. No dam. I'm probably already poisoned.

Cool

dessie, don't worry, homoeopathy can enable you to expel mercury if necessary. There are many remedies for it, and it must be fitted to your symptoms

I am not sure what is your current situation regarding fillings. In your latest post you report having had the amalgam removed...but I thought you were looking for a dentist who could do that...? Possibly you had some put in subsequent to the replacement?

I only had one removed. I have six or seven left that were replaced with new mercury fillings in my thirties. Sorry I didn't mention that. I went from mercury to mercury!!! Then a couple of years ago one filling needed replaced and I said no more mercury.

Barb those phone numbers on that website are wacky. That dentist listed for Bloomington has a Chicago area code. Then there's two dentists listed with my area code but I question that because they are not in my area.
