Hi, Can anyone help please. I have a Px whose original and most distressing presenting symptom is - popping in her mouth. Somehow the mucosa in her mouth pops, often emitting a squirt of fluid (this fluid emission has reduced since taking pulsatilla). The popping is clearly audible to others. She does not complain of hypersalivation but she is constantly sucking in her cheeks and has a continuous chewing motion. The insides of her cheeks are becoming sore through constant rubbing on her teeth.

Has anyone come across this sx before? Has anyone heard of it in a remedy? Please help, this lady is very seriously ill.

Can not be a homeopath, since a homeopath knows that info is needed.
Why, is she sucking the mouth, ??bad theets? any odur, inflamation, swelling of the salivary glands?

Thanks GM for your input. I'm a nurse and a student homeopath. Px is female, aged 63. sx started at retirement soon after hol abroad Jan '98 ???linked to the use of anti mosquito coils C/O bitter taste in mouth then associated with them. Px fully investigated medically. No physical pathology in mouth found, sent to Psychiatrist. Sx got worse progressively up to Nov '99. "Brain ceased to work". Had psychotic episode - rocking, mouth sucking and chewing, stopped talking (could only grunt, saw angels, communicated by writing, locked in bedroom in day but came out at night to walk around house. Admission to hosp. Tx ECT, Respiridon, Lustral. Virtually no memory of childhood or past. Mouth sx could be tardiv dyskinesia but they started before antipsychotic drug therapy.
I hope this extra info helps. I had just hoped someone might've seen this sx associated with a remedy.

Well, sucking, migth lead to lac can( milk), and i had a patient that talked to god , saw his face hanging under the ceiling, shes now out of the asylum..lac can seing angels..well could be, rocking, sucking, is a retardment back to a infantile stadium, and could also maybe , be calc phos..but the connection her is mothers milk, and that gives lac can.
Excessive salivation, is also found in dogs, lyssinum, is also a thought, but then you se fear of water,or of mirrors..blinking things, light.
But this is only thinking loud, nothing is confirmed, just as a thought.
What i do find on repertorising her symptomes, is one and only, PULSATILLA! i recomend one dose CM. And coffe, coca cola, chocolate, camphor, mentol, all antidotes must be avoided, calc c will probably follow it. Or lac c.
