My grandaughter aged 1 has had a 'rattling' chest since birth. Sometimes she has great difficulty sucking from a bottle because of this. She often has a slight wheeze but has been checked out with the GP and he could find nothing. She never coughs anything up although she seems to always have a runny nose- sometimes green. Sometimes she nearly vomits when she coughs.
Today she is really poorly- the wheezing is alot worse and she feels very cold to touch.
She has little energy and has been wanting to lie down- usually kicking one foot all the time.I gave her Carbo veg and she did rally round for a while.
She is teething at the moment and always seems to get a cold and be poorly with this. Dribbling all the time.
She is normally a very happy, placid child. She loves to be cuddled and hates people to walk away from her.
She dislikes being put down in her cot and seems sensitive to any downward motion- even in play.
She has a marked sweet tooth. My daughter took her off cows milk and put her on soya to see if it would help with her rattly chest but there has not been any marked improvement yet.

I'm terrible when it comes to sorting out a remedy for my own grandchildren- I'm too involved. So if anyone can see one from an outsider's perspective I'll be very grateful.

NOT A PRESCRIPTION, just a note for a remedy to be considered:

I looked up Borax in Boericke's MM--under the Mind section, I found:
Dread of downward motion in nearly all complaints...extreme anxiety, esp. from motions which have a downward direction, rocking, being carried downstairs, laid down. Anxious expression of face during the downward motions, starts and throws up hands on laying patient down, as if afraid of falling.

In Stomach and Abdomen: Distention after eating, vomitting; gastralgia, depending upon uterine disturbance. Pain as if diarrhoea would result.

Under Respiratory: Hacking and violent cough, expectoration, mouldy taste and smell. Stitches in chest, with inspiration and cough. Cough with mouldy taste, breath smells mouldy. Pleurodynia, worse upper part of the right side of chest. Arrest of breathing when lying; may be obliged to jump and catch breath, which causes right sided pain in chest. Out of breath on going up stairs.

compare: calc,; bryonia; sanicula; sulph,ac;
antidoted by the remedies chamomilla and coffea.

there are modalities listed, which may or may not match in your considerations.
-worse, downward motion, noise, smoking, warm weather, after menses
-better pressure, evening, cold weather.

Hope this helps,
Divina

D=X, not c, but the difference is slight only, in some rem c seem to give more agg, than i would like, but in other cases, well the opposite, only experience with them will show.
And i have never posted they where the same, i answered its the same, if you cnt get hold of d, uses c, since i manage the case, i dare to do it..even if the chance for a agg is there, cause i do go in, and either stop it, or change potency to avoid unwanted aggs.

Thanks much GM & Ricky...I kind of thought there might some slight difference (couldn't remember exactly), but I DID remember that GM said it was okay to use D if one couldn't get x or c .
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I learned one more thing today .
