Is there a cure in homeopathy for social anxiety/phobia? I would like to avoid habit forming drugs if possible.

Well the symptoms that I have are:
1. very apprehensive about speaking in meetings. my hands becom very cold and my heart beats very fast. Sometimes I am not even able to speak or speak incoherent rubbish.
2. very concious about people around. If I am aware of someone watching me my hands tremble. I am not able to use a restroom if someone is around.
3. I am very diffident ( not confident).I am intimidated when I am talking to a person who is more qualified than me or some important person. I am also not able to speak when I get in a heated arguement.
4. I sleep well but find it tough to go to sleep if there is even the slightest disturbance. I cannot focus and have poor concentration. I also bite my nails.

I do not have the problems in speech when I am talking to friends or family.

Use one dose of natrium mur, one m, once only,it works two months, so report back regulary, old symptomes may reocurr and last a short while, it shall max last 48 houers, if not the potence need cahnging, so post, do not use mineralwaters, and be carefull with salt in your food, salt stops the remedy, and is also a cause to this type of problem, so carefull with it, use seasalt, or balanced salt if using salt, and read up readymade food items, if to mutch saltintake during the day , you will get hte problems back, a normal amouth of salt, is 2 grams pr day, its all you need, over that it become a poisoning.

Dear GM,
2 days since I tried Natrum Mur 1M. Controlled my salt intake too as u suggested. I see neither an improvement or an aggravation in my symptoms. I had one of these weekly meetings when everybody updates their status one by one. the anxiety of expecting my turn was very overwhelming. again i spoke very nervously and hurriedly(try to speak in one breath). all other symptoms are same as before. should I wait and see some more time. thanks a lot.

You may wait as long as two months, before we see any changes, and it may be needed to use a higher potence, so reportback when you feel cahnges, or new symptomes.

As I have reported once before I gave Nat Mur 1M to a patient once and it took 3 weeks to kick in but then he was clear of the problem for 18 months afer which I had to go up on potency. Nat Mur is indicated from what you wrote.

You are thinking of Selenium, but it is not known as a remedy for this sort of performance anxiety. More common remedies for "stage fright" are Lycopodium, Arg-nit and Gelsemium.

Conventional medicine is unlikely to be able to help this sort of problem (unless taking valium or other "nerve" medication seems desirable.)

Thanks GM,Ricky and others.
GM: Is there something else I can take in the
meantime( something which doesn't antidote the Natr. Mur 1M dose) to get thru my next meeting. Thinking about it makes me nervous and cold.

As far as Paxil, Valium etc. are concerned, I am far too scared of withdrawal symptoms. Besides, I do not drink alcohol and though frustrated by my shortcoming, am not very depressed(only mildly sometimes). So these medicines are my last option.
