Cool

No offence mamma, it's interesting but frustrating to read through a thread like this and have no detailed symptoms posted by the questionner.
Your info about allergies to milk proteins is interesting.

First of all, I am absolutely new to homeopathy. My wife had it suggested to her by a friend. I thought this a proper forum for learning about a possible cause/cure.

I don't know what other info would be helpful. Will's stool has improved since my wife gave up nuts, but the same thing happened after her giving up dairy.

GM, what is calc c? (I told you I was new to this)

Do any of you suggest a book that would help us learn the basics of homeopathy (especially childhood allergies)?

Hi sgustaf - calc c is Calcarea Carbonica - it is a homeopathic remedy that has been
prescribed.

You asked about books...well, if you're new to Homeopathy...I would go for something that explains what the principles are and how Homeopathy works...and then you'll see things in a clearer way. i.e. homeopathy doesn't prescribe on disease names, but rather takes the symptoms present in a person (this includes the mental, physical and emotional disposition) and prescribes based on those in totality.

hope this helps...Lisa
ps...Herbert Roberts has a good book called The Principles and Art of Cure by Homeopathy. Written a long while ago - but a good read..and an excellent introduction to new comers, IMO.

ppss...go to www.minimum.com if you want to look for this book...good prices with the option of getting cheaper editions (Indian versions). Also, you'll find other books there too, if you're interested.

also, you could try www.simillimum.com and have a look at the links that are for introducing those who are new to homeopathy...lots of excellent info on that site!

Well, Roberts is excellent for explaining the principles for someone wanting to study homoeopathy, but not if the parents just want a few ideas for home remedies and some ideas as to the types of symptoms that homoeopaths need to know, in which case one of Miranda Castro's books is probably the thing.

well pardon me......geeeez....pre-mentrual today?

oh, and he did say, "Do any of you suggest a book that would help us learn the basics of homeopathy"...so perhaps both books wouldn't be a bad suggestion.

Thumbs down

would think that kent, Boenninghausen, and more, is reliable, compared to cookbook writers!

That is more what I was thinking...some of the older books would be better...
Do you agree that Herbert Roberts is good? I've found him to be easy to read, while referring to the older guys .

You don't start with Lascalle if you need to learn how to boil an egg.
