Question

I have been having 'attacks' of Menieres since February 2000. Rapid onset severe vertigo and nausea and tinnitus. The attacks last for between 2 and 7 hours, leaving me exhausted for a day or two afterwards. Can anyone give any advice?

Much more info is needed. Say what makes your symptoms worse? better? Is a certain time of the day particularly worse? Likes & dislikes? Any unusual symptoms? etc.
Have a look at a few other posts to see what's needed.
All best wishes.
charlotte

Three possible cures, causation, may be a dislocation in the neck, or a virus..that causes the inner ear to swell up, pressuring on the nerves, or it may be from a virus, or something else going on, it can originate from the stomach/liver pancreas..too many causes. so to help homeopatically, we need all healthinfo you have.

Include in your fuller reply whether you took allopathic medicines (eg Aspirin) before the Meniere's started.

ma57, that's an interesting question, especially since SalAc can be a remedy for Meniere's.
Have you seen cases in which aspirin is an exciting or maintaining cause?

Thanks for your inputs. Here is some more information hope it helps.
Problems first started with a hearing deterioration in Jan 1999 all sounds had a metallic quality, I had no colds or sinus problems at the time. A sinus decongestant was suggested but had no effect. From that time on my hearing went through various fluctuating states (on one side only) from tinnitus to temporary deafness. Yes I do occassionally take asprin but am in generally good health. The first attack was prior to taking a holiday so stress could have been a factor, but I have had attacks in the middle of the night. I drink little alcohol and no coffee or tea, my salt intake I would say was not excessive. There seems to be little pattern to the attacks, at first I tried writing down what I ate to see if there was any pattern but nothing was obvious. I an currently taking Serc 16 but have distonic(not sure if that is how to spell it!) reactions to the anti nausea drugs such as Stemitil and Stugeron.
When an attack starts I feel as if my blood is running hot (I guess like a hot flush), it happens instantaneously, the violent nausea usually starts with minutes and continues periodically for hours.
I have had a grommet put into my ear in August but have still had attacks.

None of the drugs you use, is nay ohter than reinforcers of this problem, they dont help, but locks and increases this problem. And, i need lot more info than this, read up theoter posts to get the idea, and you, get a chiropractick chek cause it may be from a dsialocation in the spine, and if, and not cured by three chirothreatments, its a deeper cause there is a homeopatic solution to.

Yes one very interesting case- a real classic- was after I gave Sal Ac for patient she came back and told me she had developed a rash two days after the remedy "just like the one I forgot to tell you about and which the doctor gave me Aspirin for"!!! rash lasted 24 hours, then receded and Meniere's was better. Pure homeopathy. She never needed anything else.
