Unhappy

was giving my 4yo a bath and my 1yo slipped and fell flat on her face on the bathroom tile. She has a fat lip and cut on the inside of lip. The gum around her upper front teeth bled. I can't tell if the teeth were knocked loose.

Arnica?? Dose??

Thumbs up

Thanks Ricky for responding I gave her 200C because it is all I have and she is doing fine. The swelling is gone and she's very happy.

For future reference is it okay to disolve the remedy in her bottle of milk? or should it only be disolved in water? What about crushing and mixing with food?

Thanks again

Barb,
Homeopathic medicine should not be put in food or anything except water. It is also to to be used 15 minutes before a meal or 1 hr after a full meal unless in an emergency situation like the use of Arnica/Hypericum or Apis.
The remedy can be put directly in the mouth, under the tongue, where it is absorbed rapidly, or disolved and stirred in a small glass of water.

Hi Barb,
So glad your baby is OK.....how frightening for you. One of a mother's greatest fears, that her little baby is injured.

I know they have all those rules about how and when to give the remedy but working with animals, we have used some off the wall ways to administer. In apples, or in the grain for horses. (Horses can spit out the smallest thing, they are surprisingly difficult to put a pellet under the lip, for get the tongue.) In anything a wild animal will take....food, water, spritzing them with it. Usually, when the remedy is right, not much seems to stop it!

Hi all,

baby is fine but I have a question for you. I was telling a friend(chiropractor) about what happened to the baby and that I gave her arnica for the the injury and she told me that a homeopath she knows told her to not give arnica if there is a bleeding wound as it causes blood to go to the area and it should only be given for bruises or swelling. This didn't make sense to me because if it causes blood to go to the area why would you want it for bruising or swelling either. So I assume this homeopath is mistaken but would like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Barb

There was a post a while back either here or there(lyghtforce). someone was questioning giving arnica for baby delivery without question. And someone responded that as arnica stops internal bleeding...if you don't have internal bleeding...you may get some. Maybe someone else can make better sense out of what I just said in relation to what you said..cause maybe the two ideas aren't related.

Arnica ointment or tincture should not be applied externally on an open wound or when the skin is broken.
Arnica in potency, taken internally (if indicated)is OK.
