Thanks to everyone who responded. I followed your recomendation and so far so good.
Thanks again, Machi
quote:
Originally posted by Machi: Hi, We have a 7 year old son with constant problems with tonsillitis that have been occuring for a year and a half to two years. The first year it occured a couple of times, last year around 6 and this year we've had 5 outbreaks since April. His tonsills seem to stay somewhat swollen but then they get red with white spots (been tested for strep, always negative). When this occurs he sometimes has a headache, fever (102 under the arm), no energy (usually he's a normally active boy), and feels just "bad." We usually treat it with garlic and echinacea every couple of hours, which seems to help, but when discontinued it often reaccurs. We don't just stop treating but drop off the amounts as he improves. History: Normal pregnancy, 2 weeks past due date, normal home birth. Nursed till 3 years. Didn't sleep through the night, but would nurse and fall back to sleep. Now likes for someone to be there when he falls asleep and often gets up through the night and comes to our bed. Doesn't do this if someone else is sleeping in his room, such as a friend staying over. He seems to be somewhat afraid of the dark if he has to go into a room alone, but not to be outside with others. He's a happy, easy to get along fellow. Has 9 year old sister and 3 year old brother, they get along quite well. Is not a fearful child. We live on a homestead and he enjoys hiking, climbing trees, playing with animals, both domestic and wild (likes snakes). He adjust well to new environments, learns quickly, and trys new things. Eats a variety of foods, mostly natural, although he likes junk food too. Likes sweets, but doen't have them often. Didn't have any childhood illnesses, waiting to see if is about to get chicken pox. Not vaccinated, except for tetnus in Jan, 2000. Has never liked milk, eats a little cheese, likes yogurt and ice cream. No food allergies, or nay other kind of allergies. We bake our own whole wheat bread, raise our own vegies, eggs. Need any other info?? Would like to try all our options before seeing the throut specialist. Thanks, Maria

|

Hi,
I have a simialir case of tonsillitis with my 9 yr old daughter and wondered if you could advise. She has red tonsills with white areas, that I think they call folicular tonsillitis. Its on both sides but is predominately rightsided (interestingly where I always use to get my tonisiltus as a child), and she says when swallows it hurts down right side. It came about from I think viral infection with fever first. I've given her Bell 30C as websites say this effective against right side, and I don't have any lachesis. It never started on left and spread to right as was the case for Machi (as I said its on both sides), but as its predominately right sided do you advise Lachesis in this case aswell Thanks Scott |
