Hi

My newborn has developed a very bad case of what looks like baby acne.

It started at around 3 weeks of age and looked very mild. At her one month visit, I asked her doctor about it and she said it was just baby acne.

Now she is six weeks old and the rash looks horrible. She was given 1st dose of Hep B at birth and 2nd dose at the 1st month visit. I had given her sulphur 30c about an hour before her second dose (GM's suggestion).

She has red splotches all over her face, ear, behind her ear, neck and some on her shoulders too. Her skin is full of minute raised bumps, some of which have an yellowish point.

Since it is in her scalp too, I'm wondering whether it is the beginning of cradle cap. I'm not putting any soap on her face and am washing the rest of her with baby magic baby soap once a day.

My eldest daugher has eczema, so I'm scared that the second one might have it too, and this is the beginning.

Can anything be done about it, or should I do anything about it? It looks very uncomfortable to me and I wonder whether it is irritating her, she sometimes rubs her face against my dress.

thank you
Bijo (Sarah)

I wish I knew about homeopathy back when my youngest daughter was an infant; she was a MESS with serious contact dermatitis-people would look at her and say 'What's wrong with her?'. Not what a parent enjoys hearing!

Good luck!

Hi

I have tub200, will that do? I called the nearby homeopathic pharmacy and they need a prescription for the 1M.

Things happenned in a hurry and we are set to go to India on the 8th, once I give the Tub, is there anything that I should keep handy? We have an 18+hour journey that day.

There was tuberculosis on the mother's side of the family, does this info effect anything?

My eldest daughter was given Tuberculinum 200c and she got ear infection and high fever.

thank you

it confirms tuberculinum, but 200 is too low, will likely produce fever and sutch symptomes like pneumonia for a while, it works harder than one m or cm.

Hi

I finally got Tub 1M yesterday.

I gave one dose of Tub 1M (dolisos brand) yesterday afternoon.

I have been washing her face twice a day with soap. Should I stop this?

There were so many small bumps on her face
that it ended up looking like one great red patch on each cheek (the right side is worse than the left). The spots now have a yellowing brownish crust (this was before the Tub 1M dose).

I have not seen any change in behavior or in the face so far.

This wednesday she is due for some of her shots, should I give her sulphur 30c before the shot? Will it effect the Tub dose?

Her face looks less red and irritated after some time in the open air, I started noticing this after the Tub 1M dose.

She has some stork bites spots on the middle of her forehead and on her eye lids.

Thank you
Bijo

Hi

Her lips were very red at birth, but in the past one week I've noticed that it has become very dark, almost brown. i don't know whether it is the natural color coming out or due to other causes

Hi bijo

Hope you don't mind the intrusion here.

I would stop using soap on your baby. It can be very drying on that delicate new skin.

When my son was very small I used plain water. Occasionally I would use a few drops of a baby (soap free) cleansing liquid in his bathwater, I think I did that because it was expected, because the water was just fine to get him clean.

Where does a baby go to get dirty

If I ever have another I don't think I will use the cleansers and stuff you buy in the shops.

Hi

I took her to the doctor for her shots and her condition has been specified as seborrhia. Her lymph nodes on the neck are enlarged and the skin is very inflamed. They want be to use hydrocortisone cream and tells me that the skin won't heal without it.

I have stopped using soap. The skin had started getting very dry and had formed scabs. I thought it was healing, but even after the scabs have gone the skin is red and irritated. On the face, except for her nose and forhead everything else is effected. Her scalp also has lots of read areas, so also her neck and underchin. There have been new areas after the Tub 1M dose.

What should i do? Is it true what they said about the skin not healing without the steroid. Her baptism is on the 22nd and I'd love it if she could be clear by then, or is it too much to hope for.
