Hi Sarah,

DON'T use the cream - hydrocortisone will cause problems...and it will suppress, which is NOT GOOD..

wait for GM to reply....to say what's next.

GM - could these problems be from the vaccines?? Or is that ruled out becuase Sarah used sulph prior to the jabs??

Lisa

Hi
Cortisone altough applied topical will be absorbed into the system.
It has many side effects and when applied on the face will make the skin "thinner" even if only used for a short time (2 weeks)
I have seen this happen.
The right remedy will clear the skin.
Please only use water on her skin. No soaps, no oils, no babypowder

Tuberculinum seem to work, and cortisone wil only interfear, make it take longer time to heal.
And yes, it can be mercurius in the vaxines that is the cause of this.

Hi
I have stopped using soap completely. Once it two days I wash her body using a dry beans powder which is still sometimes used in India. It is used as a soap substitute.
She hasn't been cranky/fussy/feverish after the shots. In fact, both times she went to sleep right afterwards and then slept for a long time. Must be the Sulp.
I'm not going to use the cortisone cream. Will wait for Tub to work.
thank you
Bijo

Sarah, Conventional medicine treats this condition with cortisteroid cream (which in the US is available OTC in 5 and 10%) and in bad cases, with oral steroids. Oral steroids don't usually cause major side effects when given for only a week or two. Topical steroids don't usually do alot of good, but I have seen it make very good improvements too in some cases of contact dermatitus. I would be concerned if they were prescribed for long term use. Yes, they can supress, but used for a short term??? IMO, once the rash has subsided, apply Calendula. For a child this young, I would dilute it 3 parts water, applied with a cotton puff several times a day. Also, What is the child sleeping on for bedding? Pure cotton or synthetic blend? Wash detergents or dryer sheets to eliminate static and freshen the clothes? Many hospitals use disposal napkins under the baby's face (to facilitate cleaning up) Was this child's face irritated when you brought her home?

Hi
The rash almost disappeared by the time we reached India and she was clear for her baptism.
She did get a little heat rash, which disappeared on its own, but two days after we returned, she has the acne/eczema back. Right now only her cheeks are effected. The fold of her elbows also has a few small pimples like rash.
Should the Tub be repeated in another potency? The rash is not as bad as the first time.

Thank you
Bijo (Sarah)

Default chemicals in soaps and beauty products

Hi Bijo,
I agree with Janyce about the no-soap thing. Liquid soaps and shampoos usually have sodium lauryl sulfate (and other harmful chemicals) which is a skin irritant to many people. I had extremely bad adult acne and when I stopped using these products, my skin cleared up. Its good you found an alternate that works like soap. It would be good to remember even as your baby grows to avoid the chemicals, as already there is obviously a sensitivity to these. Your child will be able to avoid all those acne problems that plague so many. Aside from making your own soaps, Aubrey Organics has great products, and their slogan is basically No Synthetic Chemicals. Their Blue Chamomile shampoo is awesome. Just be careful, because a lot of companys who claim to be all natural still put harmful chemicals in their products, so u have to read the label. Often they will say sodium lauryl sulfate is natural, since it is derived from coconut. yah, just like cocaine is derived from coca and most pharmacuetical drugs as well have their origins from nature!
ok ok I will get off my soap box about the dangers of chemicals in beauty products. I wish you and the baby all the best!
