All he has to do is to stop!!!!
Once he has stopped he may want to take Avena Sativa Mother tincture ( or Herbal tincture) at 5 drops in water three times a day. THis may help the craving and is nutrious as well.

Cool

Nux Vom 200 at bedtime, every night for five nights after stopping the drug will help to detoxify the body. Then you may need to give remedies according to the symptoms experienced at this time. Each case will have different symptoms according to their individuality. Avena Sativa and passiflora mother tinture may be taken 5 to 10 drops in a spoonful of water three times a day. It will help to take away craving. Separate the two mother tinture dosages by an hour.
All the best. Post his progress and we will try to help. When he has the craving, if he knows it will not get any worse, it is helpful.

I don't know if cib is a qualified homeopath but I definitely would not recommend the Nux 200 for 5 days!!! In my experience a severe agg. could result. I have a patient on detox at the moment from dope and his regime is Sulphur 6/ Nux vom 6 alternating twice a day at 6 hour intervals and that is only recommended under constant observation from a practitioner. He is also taking Avena sativa as I suggested above. The passiflora is also a good idea.

Ricky and cib, Can this regimine be used for detox of any substance, if the patient can stop the offending substance for a short time? Is there a time limit that the substance must be out of the body? If I wanted to use it after a patient had quit smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs, etc, would the same dosages apply? Is there anything the patient can take while trying to give up the offending substance. (I am mainly looking to help a cancer patient give up cigarettes while on Chemo, but am also interested in other cases where "quitting" would be very beneficial.) Thanks for any info you can supply, herb2451

Ricky: is that avena tincture specific for pot use? Would it still be helpful for someone who continues to use(on weekends)?

Avena Sativa Mother Tincture or herbal tincture can be used to help someone with any addiction. I would not recommend the detox for someone except under homeopathic supervision. It is also useful for someone who can't sleep because of anxiety. Take 15/20 drops in a little warm water before bed. It works a treat.

Yes the patient must have a support person and be under constant observation from a practitioner to monitor and avoid strong agg.

There are many homeopathic remedies that can be used to help a person stop tobacco or smoking, again depending on their own individuality. Example in Kent Repertory: Stomach - desires - tobacco - there are 15 remedies and these will need to be considered with other symptoms the patient presents. The same for Stomach - desires - smoking - 9 remedies to choose from. The generals, modatities and symptoms need to be taken into consideration so a constitutional can be prescribed.
Consideration of how strong the vital force is in the person needs to be noted as well. The person on Chemo may be in a very week state meaning caution.
There is a remedy to antidote tobacco as well as additional remedies to cope with cravings. As for as just general, refer to the above info.

cib and others? I am ready to quit tobacco-am smoking 5-6 a day. Do you recommend anything other than avena sativa? Do you mean the herbal tincture or homeopathic avena sativa? I usually get anxiety and stomach cramps when I have tried to quit in the past. Any help is appreciated!
