My daughter is 6 years of age.On Thursday we received a call from school that she is having stomoch pain and my wife picked her up early. On the way they visited the family doctor who diagnosed her having a lot of gas. The pain did not seem to go away and has remained constant. Today morning I went and showed her to another family physician who stated that the symptoms are not of appendicitis as yet.

My wife gave her belladona with the result that at one point my daughter said that she has no pain at all. After dinner the pain started yet again and then it is again contant. I called a nurse line who stated that an x-ray needs to be done. I am probably going to get it done this night.

The symptoms are as follows:
pain at the top right corner above navel. She drinks water well. Her diet has diminished. She is very active and does not look sick at all. No fever (probably belladona is taking care of that too). Can sleep well. She sleeps continously without any problems and does not wake up in the middle. She is not crying. No swelling near the navel. Pain gets worse with movement. Eating very less. Her playing and activities are normal and during the day she keeps jumping about without any problems. I think that is why the doctors have not yet done a ultrasound at all.

I am very confused. Please help as soon as possible. I will be looking forward to answers

Could it due to food, like oily food. Or is it after eating, is it after 30min or 2hours, can you tell us her about personality, does she like hot or cold foods, drinks. or any Sensation of coldness, or heat and burning sensation in stomach . She drinks water well?-does drinking water helps the pain. At this point, I am thinking of Puls, Phos.

Phosphorus: pain in the stomach that feels better from eating ice cream or other cold, refreshing foods , The person is usually thirsty for cold drinks.

Well she is a very well behaved, well mannered child. She likes drinks. DOes not like sweets except choclate. Likes salty food. She is kind of asthematic in winters. She is having stools once a day. It is hard and dry which makes me feel she is constipated. She is a fun loving person who dances on music, shy in front of strangers, likes to sleep a lot. She is obedient and is very truthful. Teachers love her in the school. Normally she eats well but as I said her eating is not well from Thursday.

My main concern is that if it is appendicitis can something be done in homeopathy to avoid surgery. She is only 6 years and I do not want her to go through the surgery part. However if anybody thinks it is not appendicites what is the remedy other than belladona. Just to mention that Belladona helps in cooling the inflamation in appendicitis .

Constipation in a child can often be from food / sensitivity

Aluminium can cause the symptoms you describe as can many other things

Try Bryonia 30c repeated every 4 hours for 3 doses. Stop the Belladonna.

We went to get her examined and the doctor confirmed that it is not appendicitis. Thank God!

I stopped Belladonna yesterday night and I will have a look at Bryonia. The doctor is saying that it is probably due to a stomoch flu which seems to be new in Canada because the symptoms are so close to appendicitis.

She still has pain in her stomoch around her navel but it is a little less now but it is constant.

I will keep you posted.

Gary- I think Bry because-
stomach pain < after eating < movement
Thirst esp for cold drinks
Dryness of stool
R sided
Bry is also a good remedy for appendicitis and other abdominal pains.

Bryonia could also be useful because my daugter seems to have an headache also and bryonia may help also. Besides the stomoch is sensitive to touch and pains on touch.

What is the justification for 30 dose. I have never been able to understand the dosage. Some homeopaths believe in one dose and many give multiple dose. What is the reason? Does anybody know?

The choice of remedy is more important than the potency used. Non-qualified homeopaths are recommended to use 6c and 30c potencies. Professionals can choose higher potencies but they watch out for reactions and know what to do if the remedy isn't right.
Hope your daughter is better.
