Question

I just had an upper GI investigation because of severe heartburn and acid reflux. The investigation showed a hiatus hernia and some inflammation. Has anyone any suggestions of what may help?
I am 53, white female. Non smoker, moderate drinker. Good nutritionally sound diet.Carrying about 28lbs too much weight, but very fit. Work out 3 to 4 times a week using cardio vascular equipment and weights. Married for 28 years this year, very happily. Two sons in early twenties, normal deliveries.Had total hysterectomy three years ago from which I made a fast recovery. Suffered from hay fever in my twenties and thirties, but less so now.
Don't have a particulaly sweet tooth but do crave carbohydrate, particularly bread. Love chocolate, but try not to eat it often as it aggravates slight migraine problem.
Hope that's enough of the right kind of information. Would be grateful for an help. Thanks.

GM, ovaries were removed during hysterectomy. No dryness in mucous membranes. Bread craving is for any kind really, but not the refined white packaged stuff. Any good bread. Also crave almost any kind of fruit, but especially summer friuts like apricots and peaches, I,m a big rice and pasta eater too, and prefer my pasta with tomato type sauces rather than the creamy ones. Anything slightly acidic. Love olive oil. Cheese is the only dairy food I have a big craving for, but this seems to aggravate the heartburn. It is also worse after drinking coffee, but I don't drink much of this, mainly tea. Can't take carbonated drinks at all, not even water, they just make me bloated. I enjoy a glass of wine and the only wine that aggravates heartburn is champagne.
Is this enough?

Cimicifuga is the remedy, but are you on any hormone treatment??
try cimicifuga c200 one dose first, then report back after some days.
Natr m could also be a choice, dep on symptomes, what you have given here, is to vague, only the hystrosectomia and removal of ovaries give one remedy cimicifuga, but the hiatus hernia can come from a other cause, as natr or kalium used during operation.

Sorry, I'm a recent convert and not used to how much information is needed. The hiatus hernia is a long standing problem dating from way before the hysterectomy, although only recently diagnosed for sure. I take oestrogen, daily in the form of a gel which is rubbed into my upper arms. I have had no problems with this apart from a weight gain. My blood pressure is checked regularly and is always normal. As far as I know no damage was done during op. I did make a very quick recovery.

Thumbs up

From this, i would give sepia on m, on dose a try, but the hormones you use may interfear with it, and one thing, avoid wine, and acids, vinegars in the food.., min two months..also stop coffe 4 days before taking sepia, and do not use in two months.

Have just spoken with my GP regards treatment for hiatus hernia. He wrote me a script for lansoprazole, but I said I would probably go the homeopathic route. Have been advised that losing some wieght would help and as the hormone treatment seemed to trigger my weight gain have also decided to stop the oestrogen So I will try the sepia Just one dose and no coffee. That's no problem. But no wine, oh dear I will miss that !

GM,I love to drink wine. I prefer red to white, but enjoy both. I don't drink an excessive amount but I like a glass with meals sometimes and tend to drink more at weekends. I love to cook for friends and I beleive eating and drinking with friends is one of lifes great pleasures. I also drink spirits occasionally, gin or vodka and sometimes cognac after meals, but lately if I drink cognac too late at night heartburn is very bad.
I just read this through. I don't have a drink problem honest| I just like to enjoy life

im not talking about any drink problems as you seem to think, but i wnt to know if you feel better after a drink? If that changes it completely to lachesis, cause Sepia have agg after esp red wine. And, if you preferr wisky or cognac, that is also a indication for Lach.
But if to use lachesis, alcahol and coffe is to be avoided, and strong heat, steembaths and so on. that stops it from working.
And, can you use tight collars?? Do you sleep with the bedrom window open?
