Question

Hi all,
Is it possible to gain a comprehensive homeopathic education by correspondence schooling? Not every single practicing homeopath must have had access to class studies. In that case, are there any correspondence schools out there, and which ones come recommended? I'm looking for a 3-4 year curriculum with extensive case work (as opposed to some of the 50-hour "Intro" courses).

Thanks,

RF

If you find it,(ask Lisa) and need case help etc, im aviable as a private teacher for you, as a help.
Payment for cases, is as they would be in reality. Other things, after agreement.

GM - Thanks for the offer. When (if) I get to that point, I'll most certainly take you up on that.
I've started reading the Organon recently, so obviously I'm trying to get a feel if I can pursue professionally that which interests me privately. One step at a time, I guess.
A bibliography for the beginner that you would recommend??

Lisa - Any good recommendations? I was under the impression that you were studying in a classroom. Are you also doing it by correspondence?

RF,

Lisa attends The Homeopathy School in Devon. She gave me some info on it in my May 3rd post "Question for Lisa".

The website is www.homeopathyschool.com

Thanks Barb-I just had a look at their web site. Looks promising.

GM - Just curious, is the Boenninghausen MM more accurate than the Kent one?

(oops, I meant the Boericke MM)

Also, which repertory would you recommend?

Cool

Hi RF,
Meant to answer this post before but got sidetracked with the kiddies....

I highly recommend the Devon School.....and yes, so far, I'm on the correspondence course...it is comprehensive - and they also offer (for those who want a complete qualification!) Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology & Disease.

I am currently studying A&P along with my Homeopathy Units.

It is probably one of the better schools available in English....although, I can't profess to be an expert.

But, I will say that I've been happy with my tutors and the support. Anytime I've asked questions, I have received answers and help...so I haven't felt my questions were in vain, at all.

There is a course out of NY that is associated with the Devon School.....so, perhaps that will be of help...I'm assuming you probably saw that on the website.

If you have any questions - you can email me...if you still have my email address....if you don't and would like to ...just say and I'll send you a quick email.

Good luck!
Lisa

I qualified through the Devon School, taking the first year and a half as correspondence. It's as good a course as I think can be found, though it is necessary to do lots of independent study too.
Attendence is required after the first two years I believe, either in Devon or New York.

Lisa-Thanks for the info (I have another dozen or so questions for you offline regarding curriculum & case studies-I still have your address, I believe)

Anna-Although I am in the US, attendance would be rather difficult for me (family, kids, business, etc). How would other international students handle this who don't have access to a classroom?

Thanks for all the replies,

RF
