Question

My wife has just been told she has M.E
A friend that we know whose daughter is also a sufferer of M.E has recommended that we try homeopathy to see if this will help? - can anyone tell me what sort of treatment is used and what the success rate is?.. also what sort of length of time it might take and the costs involved? I would appreciate any help with this as she is very low and any hope I can give her would be great.

many thanks

Mike

First tell what me stand for..then youll get a answer, and do read the posts, and check the archieves a bit then youll see.
Homeopathy is not about threating a diagnosis, its the personal symptomes that leads to the choice of remedy, its tailorfitted to the person.

ME is a term used for chronic fatigue syndrome.
As GM says you need to post the case on this BB before anyone will be able to help you. Or find a local professional classical homeopath who will take a full case history and prescribe a remedy for the individual person rather than a disease name.

You'll find a list of UK homeopaths on the following web page http://www.hominf.org.uk/list.htm

Costs vary but an initial consultation would probably be around £50 for an hour and a half, with follow ups monthly at around £30.

Yeah, and that list warrantyes nothing, and on the bb, its free.

In fact, does those kind of prices reflect low knowledge, students.....or nonhomeopathy...

Hoppitt415 - if I may answer for GM - I think he means that most of us charge too little because we are not trained to do the job properly.
Healing people in a reliable and repeatable way, rather than the hit-and-miss that most homoeopaths in the UK achieve, is a lot more valuable.
From a patient's point of view, would one rather pay £150 and be treated by an expert, or £50 and be treated by a person who has limited knowledge of their practice?

Wink

As an example,, if cured after paying 150, that is then cheap in comparison to 50, and 30 repeated 20 times...and by charging 50 theyr not cheaper than one who charge 150, cause the 150 uses three to four times longer time to work with the case.. in general..and do often include remedies..and follow ups..while the 50 takes five patients in the same time ..that gives a amount on 250, and a big damage to homeopathy...

Thumbs up

Thank you everyone for passing on your comments to my request..

M.E stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelites
(also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and also Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome)

I am prepared to pay whatever it costs to help my wife as she has suffered for a long while now (I personally think she has had this disease for the last 5 years at least but as she has had an operation of one sort or another every year for the last 12 years it has tended to mask the fact that she had M.E)
All I want for her is to find a way to take away the pain.. and also give her some quality of life again..
BUT.. I am not prepared to have her messed about by some person who is not properly qualified and who is out for just the money.. (as much as homeopathy is a respectable and honourable profession I still think that it has it's share of sharks!)

Mike
