Dear BB
I have been overwhelmed at the support for GM - he seems to be very highly regarded? I appreciate his offer and also the letters of commendation for his work - yet I am still inclined to meet a practitioner face to face. I hope GM does not think me disrespectful - I never intended that - I also do not intend to 'dictate' my wife's treatment.. but I always thought it natural for a husband to be concerned and protective of his wife & family and I will carry on until the day I die (and maybe after?) doing just that.. So I think the outcome is that I will be seeking help on a personal level for my wife with (hopefully?) a fully qualified Homeopathic practitioner who will have the ability and compassion to help my wife (and maybe ultimately the family?) with his/her skills. Thank you to all who have offered an opinion on my wife's problems and I genuinely hope I have not offended anyone (especially GM) by my hesitancy. Mike |

If you can afford it, make an appointment, fly to Norway and meet GM face to face. Believe me, it's worth the time, energy, committment expanded as guardian of your wife's well being. And if you are so fortunate, shake his hand for me. Best wishes, Mselle

chronic fatigue syndrome, syndrome that begins with flu-like symptoms followed by months or years of lethargy, weakness, and inability to concentrate. Misdiagnosed as "imaginary" for nearly a century, it has had various names, including the "yuppie flu" in the mid-1980s. Although many patients exhibit signs of brain inflammation, hormonal deficits, immune system abnormalities, and viral infections, the exact cause is unknown.
But homeopathy can solve this problem, try give us more information, about her health, her likes, dis-likes, foods, when dose she feels worse, what makes symptoms worse and better, which food she like, her appetite, an much as you can. At this point she should be give a dose off sulph 200c [This message has been edited by GARY (edited 15 June 2000).] |

This is no disrespect to GM or any other Homeopath on this board ...........but I too had a diagnosis of ME 16 years ago .....all allopathic tests were negative and I had same symptoms as your wife
Before you do anything else stop Check do you cook in Aluminium, foil, teflon coated, non stick , does your water company treat your water supply with Alum I strongly suspect this is part of your problems |

I had ME about 15 years ago (before most people had heard of it in the UK). There is no time limit - I had it badly for around 2 years but it lasted for about 10 years (and still hasn't disappeared completely). I was initially told by doctors that there was nothing wrong with me so I just tried to get on with my life. I only really started getting better when I gave in to it - your wife needs to accept that she has ME and not try and fight it - this doesn't mean not being positive and hopeful but resting when she feels tired, even if its all day and accepting that she needs to slow down. When you have a good day it's easy to overdo things so try and rest even on the good days. She will need a lot of support from you and the family. Because I didn't really look ill I felt that people didn't understand how ill I felt especially as M.E wasn't really heard of and I became very withdrawn and stopped talking about it as it went on for so many years. I can remember very clearly feeling that I was a 20 year old girl trapped in the body of a 90 year old and at one time I thought I must be dying of cancer as I felt so awful and sometimes I wished that I would die in my sleep. I don't know how your wife feels at the moment but it can be very depressing.
I don't know if you have children but I certainly could not have looked after kids, so she will need help with them. I believe homeopathy is well worth a try as it treats the person as a whole and ME is very much a disease of the whole person.(conventional medicine has nothing to offer for ME sufferers). Doctors cannot seem to agree whether it is mental or physical but looking back on it I my illness was trigged when I was under extreme stress. I don't know what symptons your wife has but I found that from being ill all day, every day it went down to perhaps 5 days a week and then only a couple of times a week and then I began to see a pattern - if I worked extra hours at work I felt very ill 2 days after (not the next day), or if I had exercised to much or had a late night. I could tell write pages and pages but if you are interested please e-mail me and hopefully I can give your more information - Linda a <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by mikenovak: My wife has just been told she has M.E A friend that we know whose daughter is also a sufferer of M.E has recommended that we try homeopathy to see if this will help? - can anyone tell me what sort of treatment is used and what the success rate is?.. also what sort of length of time it might take and the costs involved?
