My 8 year old son has a bowel problem. He doesn't have full control.

I have recently heard of a link with crohns disease and the MMR vaccine.

Could this be his problem.

Any ideas?

Well here goes, I will try to post my son's case.

He is 8 years old and has problems controlling his bowels- he has always had this problem in tha he neve really properly 'toilet trained'. He also to a lesser degree has problems with bladder control, the days have got better recently but now he wets the bed at night about twice a week.

General description-

He is tall, wirey and fairhaired. He has fine features and freckles.

Personality wise he is shy, quiet and quite nervy and edgy. He can concentrate on things hat interest him but often has trouble with concentration.

He likes a cuddle, but is very fidgety. He loves to be stroked.

He enjoys sport and is quite athletic.

He is untidy and disorganised but very fussy about others peoples mess and germs etc.

His handwriting is untidy but he is quite artistic.

At night when asleep he sweats a lot particularily on his head and face.

He complains of headaches, especially in the car.

Brief Life History -

He was born by emergency caesarian section 'feotal distress'. He appeared to be a very angry and restless baby and didn't settle to the breast but was better at 6 weeks when we gave up and gave a bottle!

Innoculations -

I was nervous about giving him the pertussis vaccine as there is a family history of childhood epilepsy.

The doctor agreed to give him diptheria and tetanus together and pertussis separately and later.

He had 3 x Dip and tetanus
and 2 x pertussis jabs

At 1 year he had MMR

Obviously I only became aware of bowel and bladder problems when he started toilet training. it's hard to explain, but he only seemed to be part trained he never seemed to realise when he needed 'the toilet' until it was too late or he had to run.

At 4 adn a half years he went for a pre-school booster. I thought this was just diptheria and tetanus, but when they had done the injections they told me that he had been given a second MMR as well (that was the first year that the MMR booster was introduced).

Soon after he started school and continued to have problems with bowels and bladder. Now it was considered to be a psychological problem by the health professionals,

We became increasingly exasperated in Feb 1999 we took him for a course of cranial osteopathy. This seemed to help a lot and he became a calmer happier boy and the toilet problem eased but not resolved.

Over the past year I have heard a lot about innoculation damage and started reading about it.

I would like to add now that because of my suspicions about the MMR. He has been taking MMR in potency 30c once a week (Friday) for the last 4 weeks. After the first dose he became worse within 24hrs (bowel incontinence). Thereafter he seemed to suffer what I felt was 'aggravation' of his symptoms each time he took a dose.

In some ways this is encouraging but I wonder if he ought to be improving by now??

ALso he seems to experience more emotional outbursts (previously he was very emotionally closed). Now he cries more easilyand tells me that he gets 'stressed' at school.

The remedies were given to me by my own homeopath (he doesn't see a homeopath at the moment).

However, I would seriously value your input GM or anyone elses ideas. As I agree that innoculation may well not be the whole picture.

Many many thanks
Sorry this was a long message!

Thanks for the reply, GM. I know you are not on-line at the moment.

I am having trouble getting hold of a 200c calc. carb. (it was a holiday this week end) so I haven't started the treatent yet. but I will post as soon as possible.

Also if anyone else has any ideas on this I would be grateful for the input.

Finally, GM said the info was 'scanty', what sort of info is required? What did I miss out? What would be helpful? ....

Thanks

Why don't you order your remedies from Freemans?

www.freechem.co.uk

They are very helpful and very fast.

I can recommend them.

Cool

I TOTALLY agree with Morag!

I ordered from Ainsworth and Helios - several times - and they both either messed up the shipment or got the potencies wrong!! Not just once!!!

Also, when I rang Helios -they were VERY snotty about the X potencies saying that no one uses them anymore and they don't even carry any above 12! Ainsworth weren't quite s bad - but let me tell you about Freeman's!

They are family run, handmake their remedies -and once, one of my shipments (22bottles) had some bottles where the lids had jarred loose and rendered the remedies exposed and usless. I emailed and the manager emailed me back, IN THE SAME DAY - and replaced them...and also threw in the next remedy at no charge for the inconveneince!

Helios also sent tablets when I had ordered granules -and wouldn't exchange them without ME having to pay for the shipping out to me initially, back to them -and then shipping for the corrected bottles back to me..I thought that was NOT good business practise considering it was THEIR screw up !!

Anyhow, Freeman's is an always will be my choice - fair, good quality -full range in X and C - and also, they were cheaper than Ainsworth and Helios! So, I can't complain AT ALL!!!

Just thought this might help too .

Hello.
Imn surprised someone has had problems with Helios, Ive used them cpnstantly for years, even when abroad and never had problems. And no I dont use x potencies, however if you want tpo fine. Im a bit concerned about dealing with chronic problems on the internet. Its so hard without seeing the patient. So its not that youre info was scanty in words, but that so much is missing when we cant actually interact witht the patients. I certainly would not continue giving a rmedy which appeared to aggravate after every does. Yes an initial aggraction is great, but I would only reoeat if there had then been improvement follwed by a relapse ...........Good luck with Calc C. Hope it helps. Otherwise I really would recommend you take him to a homeopath if at all possible Angela
