Default Frusterating..Ignatia?

So I went to my local health food store to see what they had and I told the lady my symptoms and she suggested Ignatia Amara. It is from Manufacturer Bioiron. It is a 30C bottle and im suppose to take 5 pellets and let them dissolve.
So I take "one" pellet just to see if im sensitive to it or anything, and as I finish taking it I read that its not used often because it contains strychnine which is a poison that can cause death with no antidote.
What gives. Is this stuff suppose to help or does it kill you?
Thanks
-A worrisome person.

Default Ignatia Amara

A 30c potency homeopathic dilution is 1 part of ignatia amara to 10 to the 60th power of the inert ingredient {correct if my math is wrong}. It is so extremely dilute that if you took the entire bottle [INADVISABLE} It would still be a single dose. Your main concern is if this is the remedy that matches a major amount of your symptoms. My advice is to seek a competent homeopath. Even when the hopefully right remedy is found, if it is taken too frequently, this in itself can cause problems. Fredric

Thanks for the reply. I am still alive.
So, I realized it just made me more nervous and anxious because of the thought of having that ingredient. I do plan on visiting a homeopath ND soon, however I am currently a student and lack some important resources to be able to visit one, mainly lots of cash. I am stuck doing my own research online. I read that phosphorus has a lot of things I may have, and I did purchase a tube of the pellets, however I have not taken them yet.

You might be better to read some materia medicas and see if Arg nit matches your symptoms of nervousness etc

Ignatia is more generally used for suppressed grief

Phosphorous i always think of "outgrown ones strength or recurrant nosebleeds "

However nothing really replaces seeing a TRULY qualified and Constituional Homeopath who really knows what they are doing

Dear James
Homeopathy is more complex than allopathy,It might seem harmless and simplistic to you but beware these homeopathic remedies are most powerfull.
Self prescribing is nOT wise unless you have knowledge of homeopathic principles.
The "try this try that " method is not advised.
there are 50,000 possible options for ailments (remedies and potencies) for EACH individual. Its NOT one pill fits all like with western medicine.

1-Its best to find a classical homeopath and seek proper counsil.
2-If you are low on funds the second best option is find a homeopathic school and ask for the "student clinic",you will only pay a few dollars to have a student take your case, the teacher is there to help out.
here is a directory of homeopaths and schools for each state;
www.homeopathic.org
What people dont understand is that when you go to a classical homeopath you are paying for all the case taking knowlege,analysis-the actual remedies are extremely cheap. It takes a homeopath hours to untangle complex cases.

Thank you for your response and I am learning lots more.
I agree now with the opinion on having a homeopath prescribe the medicine instead of self prescribe. I will look for a school in the area. I have an acupuncture appointment this week that someone recommended for me and I *think* they may be a homeopath. Is there a good way to tell see if they are qualified or have experience in prescribing homeopathic remedies instead of just taking their word?
Thanks.
