My daughter is 5 and has a history of difficulty with many foods - initially milk, soy, apples. Then peanuts, chocolate, strawberries, and most recently gluten. Rast test is positive for albumin, casien, carrots, coconut, and tuna. Her symptoms range from vomiting and hives to her more common red vulva and burning when she urinates and tummy aches, also reflux which seems closely related to foods. I had her on an elimination diet 1 1/2 weeks with no problems. Yesterday she had honey and refluxed. She had it again today and refluxed again followed by a flaming red vulva with burning when she urinates.
Her list keeps getting longer at foods to avoid and I am very careful to completely avoid problem foods. Still we are not progressing. Someone suggested trying homeopathy - any advice? [ 08 April 2002, 22:51: Message edited by: kathyot ] |

Hello Kathy,
Maybe you could post on the main discussion forum above this? you'll get tons of advise. And yes homeoapthy would help reduce her allergies, with a complete history taken and a consitutional similimum prescribed. This remedy or series of remedies, will slowly modify her hypersensitive immune system and get it back on track. It would require a lot of patience, but I think that homeopathy is the only way out. I have taken an interest in many different types of allergy treatments. Homeopathy is the only one that I have found that is able to change the body chemistry so that more and more allergies don't form. Muliple allergies are actually sensitivties and not real allergies. There are several homeopathic remedies that can be used to treat this problem successfully. A whole case history is required so that the right remedy for the individual may be prescribed. In my experience it usually takes two years for the body to change to a healthy state. It will take a sequence of remedies to produce a cure.

hello, I love milk and I couldn't find a reason why after so many years of enjoying a glass of milk everyday I would have such a bad reaction after it all of a sudden. I like to study the reasons why and well this one was kinda like a need to. I came to one last conclusion to all this. I was either going to stop drinking milk or maybe I had to change something in my diet. Then I made a chart of what things I was missing in a normal balanced diet (which I didn't have). Truth is I had little or even none at all vegtables and fruits in my meals everyday. So I started to change a bit what I ate. I don't know if it will work for your daughter as it works for me. * In my lunch break I eat a whole big salad. It usually includes Lettuse, some tomatoes, carots, selarie, and some cucumber. I also add in some ham or baccon bits for flavor and dressings wouldn't harm.
And then I eat an apple or an orange. I also drink a lot of water now. My stumach feels much better now too. Maybe its the reason that I balanced my diet that changed my stumachs reaction to milk. I have noticed too that by eating a salad in my lunch has made me loose weight. Or you can try this like my Biology teacher. She told us that her son was milk intolerant so instead of giving him cow's milk she would give him goat's milk and by doing this something changed in his metabolism that Now he can drink cow's milk as he pleases. If you have any questions I will gladly try to answer

dear Lu
here is a good website link regards milk www.nomilk.com and www.notmilk.com milk can cause many reactions for instance the pesticides/herbacides/antibiotics that are in the cowfeed gets passed into the cow's milk, passed into you. when you drink milk and have respiratory problems it will cause loads of mucous, sinus congestion. when you take antibiotics you get candida/yeast,good flora departs your gut, milk adds to the adverse effects of these antibiotics and escalate the yeast. I have never had one cup of milk in my life, better off without it! You dont need it ,a media ploy to get you to buy/drink milk. Gina Tyler
