Hi all, (posting this as suggested by JVolkman)
Day 1 -My son (3years old) had a high fever of 102.8. Vomiting. Only in the afternoon. No sweat this day - until he slept (covered up) in his bed that night. Sweat copius in bed.
2nd day - same thing - BUT NO VOMITING ...same fever.
3rd day - same fever pattern - no vomiting...and still upset at the prospect of not going to school next day....
Each morning he woke and was fine...went to school (threw himself on the floor and waiiiiiiled to go...even said that there was a toilet there in case he needed to vomit!).
Day 4 - His temp was 105.4 - so we immediately put him in the bath to cool him down. His fever went down (within minutes) to 103.8. We also gave him 7ml of Brufen, but he vomited it up within 3-5 minutes.
All the fevers - 1st 2nd and 3rd day - sweated AFTER going to bed (and wanted to be covered)...perhaps being covered MADE him sweat?
Anyhow - NO SWEAT on Day 4...despite being covered (he wanted to be snuggled up against his dalmation hooded towel..or covered in bed) - although he showed no desire to be covered UNLESS he was lying down on the settee or bed.
Geir prescribed China 200 (Malaria was diagnosed and I was advised to get the blood test). We gave him the dose on the 4th evening and his fever began to break immediately - within 3-5 minutes of taking the dose of China 200!! Within another 2-3 minutes he was asleep and sweating BUCKETS. I put him to bed - monitored a couple of hours - and the fever continued to go down
to normal by two hours after the dose.
I took him to the hospital a couple of mornings later for the blood test for Malaria. What I did, was tell the pediatrician the whole set of symptoms without telling him what I thought was wrong with my son. The doc immediately, upon hearing the complete set of symptoms from the last week, said it must be Malaria. (He knows I'm into Homeopathy and he's very very open to it! intrigued by it! He's from Ghana, and I'd bet he's seen some things back there that makes him keep an open mind !).
Anyhow, I said that I suspected the same thing -and that my Homeopath had diagnosed Malaria. I then told him that we gave the remedy indicated (China) to treat it, and that within minutes of taking the remedy, my son's fever broke...a rash came on his chest within 24 hours - and that he is now fine.
The doc looked at the rash and said he's seen it many times, when Malaria has been cured - but went ahead and took some blood. Although, he said that the parasite count is probably too low to detect. In any case, he said to just watch and make sure that if the symptoms come back, to consult my Homeopath again and seek another course of treatment.
So, it has now been 1 week since this episode - and NO FEVER - or ANY signs of a resurgence of the parasite in his system. (We got the blood results, which were negative, but the Doctor said he wasn't surprised - but was 99% sure this was Malaria, as he has many years of experience with the disease, luckily for us).
Anyhow, I just wanted to post this so people who are new to Homeopathy could see how effective it is.
If there is any resurgence of the parasite, which can happen from what I understand, we will simply consult GM once again - and go on to the next indicated remedy that fits the symptoms he may present at the time.
