He has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and is suffering shortness of breath and angina brought on my physical exertion. The patients’ general heath is excellent, physically fit mentally alert and positive in outlook. Traditional medicine suggests corticosteroids and in later stages of the illness oxygen treatment. I believe there is a drug trial in the U.S. (currently in progress) that will investigate a drug that prohibits further scarring and potentially reverses some lung scarring. However in the short and medium term the outlook via traditional medicine is not promising. Are there any alternative remedies that I should be investigating? Is there anything that slows fibrosis progression? Or anything that improves the efficiency of the remaining healthy tissue? The patient is my father, so naturally any assistance or advice is gratefully received. Many thanks Keith |

Its better to consult a good Homeopath nearby who can take up the case and guide u time to time.

Hi Faisal,
Up until the recent fibrosis diagnosis my father has lived a healthy active life. 50 years of training with weights and cycling has helped him remain in remarkable condition. His doctor has commented that his level of general fitness has masked the on set of symptoms. It is likely he has had a slow decline in lung function over a 3-5 year period. His body has reacted by producing more red blood cells and subtly changing his blood chemistry to maximise oxygen transfer. However he has now reached a point where the reduced lung function is causing significant problems, like the angina. There is no family history of pulmonary disorder and he comes from a family of particularly long lived individuals. My real enquiry is- Are there any alternative medicines to prohibit further scarring and is there anything to maintain or improve the function of the remaining healthy lung tissue? Many thanks Keith |
