Unhappy 77 yr. old husband high blood pressure

Hello:
I am posting here rather than the homeopathy in hopes of finding a way for Karl, my husband. Karl is on blood pressure meds and coumadin. We are wanting to help him get off them and also get his blood pressure regulated. It is very high right now even though he is on 4 different BP meds... (sound familiar???) I know! I'd like to help but I am not qualified. Unfortunately, he is on all of this because he had a heart valve transplant and it is plastic ... the doctors say he must be on coumadin which we are absolutely disgusted about that. I am writing in the hopes of finding a qualified practicioner who may be able to help us...

Any and all thoughts welcome.
Sincerely
carlene

Hello Carlene, (I explain for other interested readers as well)

I strongly advise you to see a good professional and not to find help online, because this is too serious a matter.

For an experienced (classical)homeopath it`s possible to prescribe indicated homeopathic remedies, but also one or more mother tinctures for hypertension, but only after proper full case taking ! Several remedies may be indicated !

Thousands of people die each year from the effects of hypertension (high blood pressure), which doesn`t cause uneasiness, dizziness or nervousness. As a result, people with high blood pressure live for several years without knowing it and it silently leads to heart attack, stroke or kidney failure and even death.

to be continued

Wim

Continuation for Carlene :

There are a number of things the patient can do himself. I`ll explain :

In blood pressure cases, diet plays an important part. In high blood pressure cases, the patient should avoid the use of salt, alcohol, spices and fried foods. Non-vegetarian foods are not useful. Raw green vegetables or boiled vegetables are a good diet both in high blood pressure cases and low blood pressure cases. Patients should avoid argument and anger. They should be advised to take a lot of rest and milk containing not more than 2 % fat. Using less salt and eating more fruits and vegetables prevent development of high blood pressure.

Magnesium supplements have a small but significant effect on lowering blood pressure.

Blood pressure consists of 2 readings : The pressure when the heart contracts and pumps blood through the arteries is known as systolic pressure, and the resistance that the walls of the arteries exerts between the beats of the heart is called diastolic. Blood pressure is measured and recorded in numbers as e.g. 130/85. The top reading is called `systolic` and the bottom reading is called `diastolic` pressure.

One`s blood pressure is unique to oneself only. Systolic is related to strokes, but heart disease is related both to systolic and diastolic.

Systolic pressure of 139 or less is normal, 140-159 is borderline, 160 or more is high.

Diastolic pressure of 89 or less is normal, 90-104 is borderline, 105 or more is high.

We should bear in mind though that, actually speaking, there is no best blood pressure but the numbers I mention above show ranges accepted by medical experts.

Take care !

Wim

Default again..thanks so much

Hi Wim (:
My husband's regular doctor made a few suggestions so we are sort of on top of it for now. BUT my real focus is trying to find the right practicioner. Karl is on coumadin which truly complicates all matters. I have studied it on line and he cannot (at the present time does not) take green things (which we know is detremental to his health) because the doctors say it will affect the coumadin.

oh boy!

So, to me , it seems that we need a naturopath and it may be hard to find someone who will work with us because of karl's age.

hoping and praying

OK Carlene.....I see what you mean....I`ll hope and pray for your hubby too ! A good professional naturopath or homopath will help people of any age to the best of his/her ability !

Default thanks much

Hi Wim
I would go with a homeopath but the thing is that we have to directly monitor his coumadin levels and I am under the impression that only a naturopath could work that way because , aren't they MD's?

Yes Carlene....you`re right....better safe than sorry....and , if necessary, naturopaths sometimes refer out to other medical practitioners.
