Default Dr Reckeweg R66??

I would like to know if any of you have had luck with dispensing this homeopathic remedy for an irregular heartbeat. My doctor (holistic MD) thinks one of two things is causing my irregular heartbeat. He thinks it could be that my neck vertebra have been sublaxed and is pressing on my sympathetic (?) nerve and wants me to have some kind of cranial therapy to release the nerve. The other is a deficiency in magnesium. He gave me an iv infusion of calcium/magnesium yesterday and I felt better today but tonight (11:00 EST US) the irregular beat is back and I'm getting anxious all over again. He wants me to take 10-15 drops in 1/4 c of water 3x per day before meals. When I feel better, he wants me to slowly take myself off the remedy.

I researched the ingredients and as I thought, they all are plant compounds so I think I'm okay with taking it.

In the meantime, I have been taking Relacore to help stop what could be the overproduction of cortisol. I seem to feel less stressed.

now...i thought you weren't supposed to use a homeopathic remedy for more than 3 days.

So...please....let me know your opinions on this remedy and if you agree with its dosage.

Thanks!!

Paula

Hi Paula,

I personally wouldn't use any Dr Reckeweg products because they are combination remedies. Some people, including some MD's, dabble in homeopathy and, instead of taking the case properly - to find the indicated remedy - they try a combination thinking it will 'cover' all bases. This is a fallacy - because it isn't how homeopathy works. One wouldn't know what was affecting what.

Usually we give one dose ("C" potency) and wait to see what happens with the symptoms before either re-dosing or changing potency or moving to another indicated remedy. OR, if using a different potency scale ("LM", aka "Q") the dosing would be different - e.g. taken daily and assessed when to stop.

I'm not sure if there are any 'classical' homeopaths in your area, but that's what you need if you want to use homeopathy.

Best wishes,
Lisa

mypidgeon

First thing you must keep in your mind that we *hmeopaths* do not know anything about our medicines / remedies. Most of the medicines are un-proved but were added in materia medica by our great ancestors. We are keep on using them without having any proof.

2nd thing is, what is in Reckweg R number, no body knows just like we do not know about aconite 30. Yes, pharmacies are writing aconite on label but who knows whether they are writing with true line of work or not.

The general tradition is, pharmacies do not write the ingredients what they are putting in them in real so that homeopaths may not formulate them again in their clinic. As the ingredients cannot be verified hence they are taking advantage of that. There is no lab where we could find and confirm the ingredients.

In my early days of practice (when I just qualified), I have used Reckweg Numbers. These have excellent results in so many diseases, but this practice is against the basic philosophy of homeopathy. So I left it. The second reason was leaving the use of Reckweg was of its cost effect. In simple fever, by giving just three doses, we can earn Rs. 100 per patient then why should we prescribe R Number which cost Rs. 150 to 250. This means, if I prescribe R number then I will charge Rs. 100 in lieu of consultation and Rs. 150 for R number. This was also a burden on the patient. But if I use the classical method then I will charge only Rs. 100 including three doses of aconite 30. This does not build the burden on the patient.

Let's come back about R Numbers. I had an experience of meeting with a doctor who visited Reckweg pharmacy. He said, do you know what they are putting in R number which we mostly use for heart trouble. I said, No. He said, they only use single remedy in R number but write so many remedies just to impress doctors. I said, which remedy he said lauroductus in low potency. But never write this remedy in flapper.

Default Thank you and....

Would it be completely innapropriate for me to say that I marvel at the fact that so many of you, from other countries, do such a great job with writing in English?! I am amazed that most of us in the States aren't bilingual yet in so many countries it's standard to speak many languages.

And...thanks for the input on R66. My doctor isn't going to be happy but I'm going to skip taking it. The calcium and magnesium seem to be doing the job. My heart palps still occur (like right now) but last minutes instead of hours! I am still going to do the cranial manipulation instead of the chiropractor but will not take the R66. Instead, I am drinking a beverage with both calcium and magnesium in it. Hopefully these palps are on their way out in exchange for a normal beat!!

It's a beautiful day here in the North East! I hope you all are enjoying such great weather.

Paula

Dr Shazad, Why do you say we homeopaths don't know anything about homeopathic remedies? Where do you get the idea that most of the remedies were unproven but added to our Materia Medicas. Certainly there are remedies that were not well proven and a fair number of homeopaths are indeed aware of this AND opt not to use them. Why throw this info at a layperson who is asking a more specific question about her own treatment???????

Paula, taking calcium and magnesium in crude form may palliate your symptoms but it likely won't be lasting...and if it 'lasts' for quite a while - it could be suppressive.

Dr Shazad, Why do you say we homeopaths don't know anything about homeopathic remedies?

Dr. Aamir: Respected madam, Homeopaths know about their remedies (proving, symptoms, use and applications etc) . But they don't know anything about what these remedies have in it. That is I am saying with full responsibility and being a homeopath having both certification in homeopathy of high caliber and life long experience. If I am wrong here then please let me know what is in belladonna 200c? Although you know what is belladonna 200 is? (I think now the point is clear)

Where do you get the idea that most of the remedies were unproven but added to our Materia Medicas.

Dr. Aamir: This has been discussed many times at different forums too and if you could read "Moalij", the most old homeopathic magazine of the world and read the article of student of george vithoulkas then you will be having the same opinion. Dr. Banaras article of wah cantt is worth reading. If you say, i can paste the article here that is in Urdu Language.

Certainly there are remedies that were not well proven and a fair number of homeopaths are indeed aware of this AND opt not to use them.

Dr. Aamir: what is the figure of those not well proven? what is the percentage of those remedies as compared to known remedies. About 2000 remedies are in use by homeopaths and how much are un-proven or well not proven?

Why throw this info at a layperson who is asking a more specific question about her own treatment???????

Dr. Aamir: I was commenting on R numbers. post sender said " Dr Reckeweg R66?? ...... I would like to know if any of you have had luck with dispensing this homeopathic remedy ........ I researched the ingredients and as I thought, they all are plant compounds so.... "

me was informed about recent remarks of great murthy (Moderator) of http://www.homeocurecenter.com

Since the advent of computers, it has become that much more easy to publish repertories.

Now a days, we get very frequent revisions, which add more and more symptoms, and many more medicines for each symptom.

The authenticity of many of the newer additions is suspect, and I feel the scenario is getting more cofusing day by day. I still use Kent, Boenninghaussen, Boger, Boericke as my primary repertories. I can use them with confidence.

I would like to know which of the new generation repertories, contain the most accurate and authentic information. Also, can somebody advise me which repertory contain complete information about the symptom with the sensation and modalities in one place?

For example

Pain, right side back, extending to arms, amel by pressure

I have to split and and look in at three places in the repertories I mentioned above. I am looking for a repertory which is more easy to use, but at the same time doesn't contain too many unproved remedies.

Murthy
