Off topic, I know, but a lot of homeopaths do use them too (myself included). And I wondered if any of you can recommend a mailing list or forum or discussion group etc? (Preferably a mailing list. The internet and I don't get along too well.) No, I haven't googled for flower essence discussions yet; I'd rather have a direct recommendation if I can get one (and the homeopaths I've asked in person seem to be more computer phobic than I am!).

I don't know of any -sorry- but in case you can stand to google, add either Australian Bush, or Bailey, or Calfornian to thy search to get more than the Bach essences This link is on my site , is very elementary but might be of interest.

Bach Flower remedies and (Australian) Bush Essences are two completely different sets of remedies. While BAch Flower remedies has only 36 remedies in them - the best book I've read on the subject is by Mechthild Scheffer (a student of Bach). Quite inspiring. The Flower Essences, on the other hand are many more in number. HEre is a suggestion made by someone else: "If you want to know more about Bach Flower Essences, I suggest that you join 'talkbach' a Yahoo Group. There are many experienced prescribers in that group." Hope this helps, Leela

I use the Bach and Australian Flower essences regularly, particularly for emotional problems (they especially work wonders with children and teenagers) and as a complementary remedy whilst undergoing other therapies such as Reiki, Kinesiology, Bowen etc and also to enhance meditative practices. They assist people to work through emotional and psychic imbalances which often lead to a state of physical disease and contribute to a resolution of that problem/illness/disease. Sometimes, so well, that my beloved homeopathy is un-needed or can be used as an adjunct to a full cure.
For the Australian Flower Essences, you cannot get better than the founder of the Australian Flower Essences, Ian White, whose website and info re: the AFE's can be found at: www.ausflowers.com.au. Each continent/country/nation/state are finding their own essences and although they work for anyone, anywhere, 10 years of research seems to show that provided one feels comfortable and in harmony with the country they are living in, the more effective the essences from that land will be. To quote Anna Flora (one of the 1st people to become involved in the making of flower essences after Dr Bach's death): "The essences help make humans more like angels."

Friends,
Many of you may know that Jeffrey Garson Shapiro, former head of a homeopathic school in L.A., authored THE FLOWER REMEDY BOOK which is a repertory of 700 (!) different flower remedies. This book describes flower remedies from the Bach Centre, the Flower Essence Society, Alaskan, Pegasus, Perelandra, Australian Bush, and Master's. The author has created a repertory of emotional symptoms and then a list of each remedy that is known to fit that precise emotional state?and varying states. This book helps the reader become a more precise and accurate user of flower remedies. For further info... http://tinyurl.com/6zxvs Dana Ullman, MPH |
