Have others had experience in giving/teaching Reiki to ADD/ADHD or Indigo children?

I am also interested in how Reiki can be used to help children. I am setting up my own Reiki practice after having worked as a Montessori Directress for almost four and a half years. I am learning to follow my intuition through life; it led me to Reiki, a career change and now a further career change to focus more intently on Reiki (I hope to add other holistic healing strings to my bow in the future).

My only experiences with Reiki and children so far, having none of my own (yet) were as a Montessori Directress (2-6 year olds) and First Aider in the classroom. I found that even without conscious intent, Reiki would flow, calming children.It was rarely possible to speak to the parent to gain permission and when consciously using Reiki I would silently ask permission from the child's higher self rather than getting odd looks from my co-Directresses, though I'm sure the child wouldn't find it odd.

I seem to have had naturally good relations with many an old soul in a young body! I attribute this largely to being a Reiki 2 at the time.

There was one particular child who, though not diagnosed with anything, was clearly trying to deal with emotional behavioural issues. Lovely and horrendously challenging at the same time, in hindsight I suspect that this child had also drawn quite a lot of Reiki through me and subsequently showed many signs of healing crisis and progress. Now I'm not claiming to be the only factor, but I do believe that, even though not consciously given in a treatment room setting, energy flowed and there was a definite reaction.

I hope to work further in this field. Can anybody point me toward any useful literature regarding Reiki and Children?

Yes I have. I am a Reiki Master with years of experience and found that teaching Reiki to Indigo and Crystals, Autistic/ADD/ADHD/BDD, etc. helped them focus and balance.
In view of this, I have a book being published, as we speak, in a simple,
cartoonlike form, to be used to help teach all kids including those with disabilities. I had developed this to use with my own classes and felt the
the need to share the information. It won't be out for about 2 or 3 months but will be found on Amazon. Reiki helps them to become more in tune with the universal energy thus helping them become much more centered. In the meantime, if you have any questions I will try to help.

I am a Reiki Master who has written a book that will be out within the month on
Amazong regarding Reiki and children (Reiki, Pure and Simple) as I have had much
success with children with dissabilities becoming Reiki First Degree capable.
It helps balance and center the kids and a wonderful therapy.

As a teacher of Reiki and Karuna Reiki since last 16years I have marked that giving Reiki to Autistic/ADD/ADHD/BDD kids by their mother works miraculously. In later stage some of the kids play by placing their hand on other telling that they are giving Reiki. In such cases I have attuned those kids with First degree and gathered that they are doing well. I agree that Reiki attunements on children w/ADD, ADHD, Autism and Downs really
helps them. Have a book coming out shortly that explains just what Reiki is and
what it does that is geared to children as well as learning challenged. As a Reiki
Master and teaching and working w/children for many years, think getting the
message that Reiki can help balance and center is very important.

As an early adult Indigo and now a Reiki Master, I can certainly agree that Reiki has helped me so much. I only wish I'd found it earlier, but everything at the right time, as ever...
