Sorry for delay response. I was not in my town.
Yes, it is a heartbreaking incident. The people of Pakistan have suffered great set back. On safe estimate, about 100,000 have died. The entire nation is with the effected people. Our associations are doing great efforts on combine and individual level. First the roads were blocked due to land sliding but these are open now. I have the privilege of visiting Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Bagh localities. The most effected and quake hit areas. I am planning to visit northern areas for three days of stay but the problem is the roads are jam packed due to rush of traffic. The truck carrying goods supply is still on the way for the last three days. Only helicopter or C-130 planes can approach to that area. That was a devastated earthquake caused much trouble and disaster with many causality and injuries. We are doing few services in our own cities but these are the minor works. In spite of having great intention to provide help to victimized.
We are helpless but not hopeless.

What anyone can help?
My association and I are thinking to establish a FREE Homeopathic Mobile Van. That van will be utilized for establishing free homeopathic medical camps in far flung areas and other purpose. Dr. Aamir Shahzad a close friend of mine put the idea forward. For this purpose, we need 3000 to 5 Thousands Dollars. I have contacted to many Pakistani and foreign Pharmacies they showed interest in donating good number of homeopathic potencies and first aid ointments / compounds / medicines. The furniture will be provided by our furniture associations of Pakistan. While each head of the town will provide space in establishing the camps. I am not aware of any web sites, organizations, groups, clubs, societies or associations or persons, which provides fund to affected genuine people in earthquake / natural disaster / patients / hospitals etc to whom we can contact and request them to work with us or provide fund for affected people because I never thought on that ground. I always worked on my own hand, people very much know our associations activities but this calamity demands to work with other world associations / rescue teams / fund providing organizations.We are planning to establish free homeopathic medical camps and blood banks. So for we have established uncountable free medical camps, where we have provided free medicines to the poor and needy people. That has been done with mutual cooperation and contribution of funds. I request you and other to forward this message to all groups / societies / organizations / persons to whom you know that can help us out in any format they like.

In the real sense, he and his team has established free homeopathic medical camps. I express my gratitude and appreciate your apprehension about earthquake-affected people. Recently a 25 members squad has just returned back after dispensing duties in FREE Homeopathic Medical Camps at Muzaffar Abad (Main affected Place of Earthquake). I was waiting the feed back of the Team that's why I am sending this email late. Dr. Ghulam Abbas was leading the group. This Rescue team with two trucks of food items including homeopathic and allopathic medicines with First Aid Kits reached Muzaffar Abad and set up daily camps. On each day, approx 200 patients were seen. Qualified Homeopaths treated the patients with homeopathic medicines. Most of the patients were of diarrhoea and chest infection. Injured & Wounded were treated and managed by Allopathic Para medical staff. The camp members stay was of one week (approx). Now Homeopaths are planning to set up a mobile homeopathic van. Although the association has no funding yet. The entire funding has been utilized for earthquake victims' rehabilitation. The idea was to use the van for all welfare purpose. At this stage it is very difficult to raise funds for this project because maximum has already been contributed. If we would be able to collect requisite amount within a month then we will purchase a new CARRY VAN otherwise the amount will be utilized / expended in setting up FREE Medical Camps or other Welfare projects or in misc use.
If you are interested in donating cash. This is really a great service, which you are going to exhibit. We should all set such type of examples for ..........
Yesterday, when this news was appeared at CNN news teleprompter that about 40 thousand childrens have been affected and most of them are shelterless and have lost their parents, then my wife discussed with me and my mother and suggested to adopt or atleast bear expenditures of education of one of them. This world is full of materialistic friendship.
If your personality can be a benefit for others, others will try to make contacts with you.............. Your altruistic effort will certainly bring a good change.
I can only accept donations, if one allows and permits me to use the same amount for all purposes mentioned above. Give me devolution of power so that I could use that amount on discretionary power. The reason is, we are trying to raise funds for establishing the mobile van but if the requisite amount does not receive then we will use collected amount in other welfare projects. Donation update for Homeopathic Health Care , Pakistan Earthquake - No 2 Tuesday, November 08, 2005

Dear Members and Friends,
We have collected 20 thousand in Pakistani Rupees. Two more checks have been received at WHCC Head Office that will estimate 33 thousand Paki RS. In addition an amount of about 25 thousand Paki Rs is on it's way. The grand total is 78,000 rupees to date. This is about 1,305.44 USD, we need 3000 to 5 thousands dollars to to establish a FREE Homeopathic Mobile Van.

The case of the missing sewing kit

It wasn't that big of a deal, really. Still, I feel a twinge of sadness whenever I remember, because it's something I really liked a lot. I made the small zippered pouch by hand, every last stitch. I wouldn't call it a work of art, although I was proud of the clever piecing and homespun appearance. I filled the little pouch with my most prized hand-sewing supplies: tiny gold scissors in the shape of a stork that were so sharp they cut perfectly all the way to the end of the beak, the only thimble I've ever found that fit perfectly, a small magnetic needle holder filled with the finest German stainless-steel sharps in a variety of sizes, a tiny container of appliqu, pins and two spools of thread that were just the right size and shape.

It has been years since my sewing kit went missing. I looked from time to time, always consoling myself that it would turn up. It had to. Sewing kits don't get up and walk away. Soon my casual attempts turned to all-out searches and eventually to excavations. I emptied drawers, looked in nooks and crannies in every room of the house.

From time to time, I considered making a new pouch and refilling it with all the right items. I came this close to ordering a new pair of stork scissors. Wow, I didn't remember them being that expensive! And I just couldn't do it. I couldn't bring myself to admit the originals were hopelessly lost.

I have considered that there is a lesson in all of this that I need to learn. And I'm certain it has to do with the unimportance of things compared to people. It would be difficult for any one of us to not have been faced with this reality, in light of the recent devastating world events. It's just a sewing kit -- a tiny treasure that must have fallen into the wastebasket or somehow got scooped up into a donation bag. It's not like I lost a child or close friend. I still have my home, my family and so many things in my life that bring me joy.

Over the years, that little sewing kit has prompted lots of cleaning binges. I have pared down our closets, giving away furniture and household items. And it feels good.

This morning I was cleaning up a desk I no longer need to give to a friend. At the last minute, I decided to check all the drawers just to make sure they were empty and clean.

In the small drawer on the right was my little sewing kit -- exactly where I put it so it would always be handy. I got my sewing kit back.

But more than that, I experienced something I don't really understand but believe with all my heart: It is in giving that we receive.
