Default hair loss - women

Does anybody have suggestions as to the root cause of abnormal hair loss for women in their 40s and what can help to restore to normal balance.
I've heard it could be related to hormones - not enough progesterone - otherwise I'm at a loss to get some real answers and cures.

Thanks!

johanne

Hair loss at this age could be due to a hormone imbalance or an underactive thyroid or also could be due to poor absorption of nutrients.

Thank you for your reply. I'm going to look into testing for the 3 possibilities you mentioned - however how do you test for poor nutrient absorption?

You could always seek out a bio resonance practitioner and have tests done.
Or a nutritional therapist?
Or try taking a pro biotic supplement- this could boost your body's ability to absorb nutrients,

Funny - someone gave me a sample of pro biotic a few months ago. I didn't pay much attention to it then- I will now - there is so much on the market.

Again Thank you for the specifics about poor absorption testing - my hunch is its hormonal I'll start there.
