Default Lycopodium for gas/constipation?

Hi there,

Can anyone give me some advice about giving lycopodium to a 4 month old baby? My baby is generally very healthy but seems to have some digestive problems: He only poos about once every two weeks and when he does it can be a relatively small amount and quite smelly. He is exclusively breastfed, feeds well and puts on a good amount of weight. We took him to the doctors a while ago and they didn't seem concerned about this as he generally very alert etc. The only problem is that his stomach also produces a lot of wind which give him some discomfort: Feeding seems to stimulate his system and make him fart - which makes him cry and can put him off feeding. It also sometimes causes a problem at night and keeps him (and us!) awake.

In terms of personality, he's generally quite a happy little boy and not grouchy on waking as I've read some lycopodium babies can be. He is however quite easily bored and impatient, he also has quite a temper when he doesn't get his own way!

I've bought Lycopodium 6C tablets from my local health food shop. Does this sound right? If so, how much do I give him and how often. I've been recommended one tablet twice a day. Correct?

This is my first foray into homeopathy - so all advice appreciated. Apologies for the length of the email!

Thanks

Anna

Default Gas and farts

The prime indications for Lycopod are -feeds little and often , and is grumpy about 4oc to 8 oc .

Sounds more like Podophyllyn to me. Check it out.

As you are breast feeding YOU should take the tablets about an hour before feeding.

Thanks Passkey. Yes, it does sound like this is closer to what I need. Can you give me any indication of what strength I should use and how often I should take it? I really appreciate your help - after weeks of struggling along I'll be absolutely delighted if this works!

Hi Anna

Try carbo veg 6c or 30c.
Take 1 tablet about an hour before you start breast feeding.

Good luck
