Hi everyone. I've been searching the web for someone who may be able to help my daughter and you look like a well-informed group of people.

My daughter is 4 1/2 years old and was injured by vaccines. Her diagnosis is Cerebral Palsy and intractible seizures. We have been working with a homeopath for over a year and a half. We have seen progress here and there. About two months ago, we were in the hospital for status seizures. It got really bad. We weren't sure if she would make it or not. She did, and in hindsight, it appeared as though we had gone back to the begining and now could move forward. I weaned her off her diet (the ketogenic diet- we used it for seizure control after trying several meds). She had no seizures! It really was amazing. Then the seizures started again, and the Kali Carb that I had been giving her stopped working. The homeopath suggested Calcarea Carb because she had awoken with sweat on top of her head and on the bottoms of her feet. Tried this and saw nothing. Went back to Kali Carb and saw nothing. Then I really started to screw things up by throwing a bunch of remedies at her. In the last three days, she has gotten Kali Carb 200C, Calcarea Carb 30C, Lycopodium 30C, Hellaborus 30C, Nux Vomica 30C and then 200C, and Ignatia 30C, in that order. She has been seizing non-stop the whole time. I want to avoid the hospital because setting foot in there means she's going to be put on a drug, no way around it. And I have seen such great things aside from the seizures. She is SO interactive and responsive. Her heart seems to be OK. It's around 125 on our pulse ox and blood sat is good, so I feel OK about staying home.
At any rate, this morning she is awake and alert for the first time since yesterday at this time. She is very weak, though, with significant right-sided paralysis and is refusing to eat.
Oh, we also gave Sulphur to try and clarify things in the middle of last week. Not sure what happened there. It changed her symptoms, but it also made seizures worse.
The only Materia Medica I have is Boericke's and I can't find the symptoms I need to find. Anything come to mind for these?:
Right sided paralysis of arm and leg after convulsions
Eyes move independently of one another with dilation of pupils during convulsions
Convulsions concentrated mostly in the left side

Really sorry to her about your daughter.

Thuja and Silica are indicated in seizures after vaccination - has she ever had these?
However from the symptoms she seems to be having at the moment I think you should look at Belladonna.

What does anyone else think ???

Sorry to see you haven't got any more replies. There's lots of experienced folks on the BB, but it seems that most discussions take place on the open DISCUSSION forum.

My suggestion is that you post your thread again there.

I'm a beginning practitioner and don't have enough experience with seizures to give you competent advice.

Please let us have your daughter's case on the main discussion forum, obviously with some more detailed info.

e.g. The time of worsening of the symtom.
The character of the child
Thermal status etc. etc.

I hate typing, I think the best thing is to post this case with as much as info about your daughter on the main discussion forum.

I'm sorry to hear about what you and your daughter have been going through. You could post your daughter's case and we'll narrow down on the possible remedy that could help here.

I don't think the prescriptions you mentioned were appropriate and generally one tries to find a similimum or at least the presently indicated similimum fitting a totality of sumptoms. I would expect the treatment to be long winded and a careful case management over at least 2 years, thoiugh there should be a detectable improvement with her if the correct remedy is chosen.

I'll try and look in more often in the following week to help you out (I'm on husband imposed 2 week "vacation"!). I'm sure the others will help too.

Your daughter has a serious chronic problem and I really can not understand why you are self prescribing. For your daughter's sake go back to your 4 -5 year trained (I hope) homeopath and let her/him prescribe for your daughter and lets hope you have not done too much harm!! Sorry to take this attitude but anything else I personally believe is irresponsible.

Pardon me Ricky, I normally a very difficult person to offend, but I am very offended by your post.

Please tell me how much experience you have watching your child have endless seizures all day and all night. How is it that you respond when this happens? When you are sobbing and feeling helpless because nothing you do- or the homeopath does- is helping and you wonder whether each and every breath will be her last. What is the appropriate way to behave? I am well aware that I should not have given her so many different remedies. I knew it at the time, too, but the homeopath was not available and all I knew is the seizures HAD to stop. Either they stop or her life stops. Do you understand my situation?

FYI, the following Tuesday she was admitted to the hospital on my husband's insistence. Drugs were going to be started and the VERY minute she was going to get a continuous diazapam (Valium) infusion, they stopped. They stopped because I had given her a dose of Thuja 30C based not on anything but the vaccine piece and a very last second "what the hell" feeling. They have not started again. Don't discount mother's intuition. I may not be as well trained as my daughter's homeopath, but I found the right remedy where he could not. I called him following this and he was amazed. He had not been considering Thuja. I don't know how long this will be the "right" remedy, but I know I did the best I could and somewhere in there I managed not to screw it up. Go ahead and call me irresponsible, but I did what I had to do.

I'm glad to hear your daughter responded to Thuja!I hope she's continuing to improve. Please do keep us posted.

And I can see how you came to the point of trying out this and that out of desparation. When the rest of the world is pushing you to go for allopathic treatment. That happens... Unfortunately, as you know, it usually gets things more confused.

You have my entire sympathy for what you have been going through watching your child in such a scary state.

I have been in your situation myself and understand completely the desperation of being at the mercy of allopathic medicine, knowing that correct homeopathic prescribing is the only answer and NOT HAVING IT! That is why I am studying to become a practitioner of this amazing healing art. You did what any mother (or father) in that position would have done. And you continue to search out the best treatment for your daughter. It is obvious that you are a dedicated and loving mother. I would encourage you, too, to post on the discussion BB so that you can get some help and continue in the healing direction that the Thuja has begun.
