Using cold compress of bandages to alleviate itching, with half a drop of T Tree to 1 pint water for band soaking. Please any advice am now at wits end as she is so upset, and I need to sleep!

I think that you can't go wrong with a dose of Arnica. Preferably a 200C but if 30C is all you have that will do. Report back after that. Can you give us more details about your daughter's personality please. What were the circumstances of the accident she had? Does she refer to it at all? Whatis her worst time of day?

Thankyou for your advice. The accident was at a local river where family and friends were present, unfortunately Stephanie nearly drowned and was found face up in the water, not breathing. A friend pulled her out and was able to resuscitate within seconds,THANKFULLY! This has obviously left her with fear of her head going into water and has been very clingy ever since. Her personality is very independant, and quite demanding. She is a highly intelligent child for her age, luckily she is able to explain reasonably well how she feels, and this morning she says her arms are hurting?? She still has a nap in the afternoons, but if not enough sleep, becomes highly fractious and tearful. She is a night person and will not sleep before 10pm at night although is able to lie in till 9.30am on occasions. Stephanie overall when well is happy golucky and is quite happy to play on her own. I am grateful for any help and advice given

You say that she is able to explain how she feels. Has she talked about the incident? What has she said?

Thankyou for your replies. Stephanie before the incident was a very self confident child and was very self assured. Her independance was very visible to the extreme, to things she knew she couldn't do but still refused any help, until the realisation, became frustrating and made her upset and angry. Now she is very cuddley and seeks reassurance frequently throughout the day,she also now falls asleep in mine or Daddys arms which she would never do before. Also now she hates bathtime for obvious reasons, and refuses to sit and remains standing. I have since taken to bathing with her in the hope she will slowly regain her confidence in the water. She says to people "I drowned in the river & it was dark and the water tasted horrible and I want Mummy". She also says that water is bad and doesn't like it, which I suppose is an expected response. The rash has now spread onto her tummy on the left hand side and also on her legs spreading down to the tops of her feet!!. The rash seems to swell the skin and her fingers and hands are all swollen. The things that stand out the most are her cuddles, she has gone from a child who cuddled on her terms to giving cuddles all the time and also wanting to be carried and comes with me every where. Where if I was doing the housework, she would be quite happy to remain in the lounge and play or watch a video, now she has to be with me at all times. To my mind, the fear that has obviously gripped her due to the river, she now feels she must keep a grip on those around her and has to reastablish al her own boundaries of love and emotion, and how she feels about herself. I do hope this helps. Thankyou for all of your time in helping me to get my little girl back well and happy. Regards Vikki

In my Murphy's rep there is one remedy only for Timid, after fright and that is Aconite. Aconite also comes up for Skin Rash in black type and for In children, plain type. It is also black type for Irritability.
Have you given her the Arnica? If not I would go for Aconite 200 if possble. Any suggestions from other homeopaths?

Firstly Thankyou to Rikki. I have just startes the Aconite for Stephanie in30c doses three times a day, hopefully within a couple of days there will be some change. Also thankyou Govi, I see your thoughts with regards to the phosphorous, as I am currently taking it myself for my M.S. Although the Aconite seems to be an instictive choice at this time, I will of course bear this advice in mind .
Thankyou Vikki.

A suggestion here would be phosphorus with the tremendous need for reassurance thu physical contact combined with intense fear. There are other possibilities but this jumped to mind for me..

Keep in touch and let us know how your daughter gets on with the Aconite. I would expect a result within a day or so, otherwise stop the remedy.
