Rabies Miasm Questions
Hello,
I have questions about rabies miasm. I first heard this term in an elctronic newsletter.
What are the syptoms of a rabies miasm?
The reason I ask is that I have a 15 month old, spayed, female German Shepherd that I bottle raised from a 10 day old puppy. She was a very out going puppy, always jumping on people, wanting to investigate things, etc. I was adamant about early training and socialization. Shortly after receiving her rabies vaccine (husband is a vet), her behavior changed. She became fearful and unsure of new things. She became fearful of new people, often hiding behind me. She's always been a pushy dog, but she acknowledge's us as the pack leaders. She is hyperactive. It takes next to nothing to wind her up. She will submissively pee if she's excited around my husband and he give her the "down" command just a touch too forcefully. She has a high amount of prey drive, but even if she's exhausted from playing catch, she has a hard time laying down and chilling out.
This whole change seems to have occured around the time of her rabies vaccine. I wanted to mention it to my husband, but was affraid he'd laugh at me. He writes her behavior off as "just being a high drive puppy."
She does seem to be gaining confidence with more training/socialization, but is still uncomfortable around anyone but myself and my husband. She has spent weekends at my trainer's while I show my ferrets, but she still shrinks from him if he tries to pet her.
The slightest noise will make her "wuff," growl, or out right bark at times.
I am currently feeding California Natural Lamb and Rice mixed with Honest Kitchen's dehydrated raw.
Also, is there any good veterinary info on rabies miasm? My husband hadn't heard of it either, but he doesn't really believe in homeopathy.
I had written my dog's behavior off until I got that electronic newsletter. Is there any way to definitively diagnose rabies miasm?
I think one of our cats may be suffering from this as well, but I can go into further detail on that if anybody else is interested in him later.
Thanks for your help.
