Well, it's been almost three years (10/05) since I started the Folliculinum. I started with the lower doses and took gradual increasing potencies up into the LM 03. I took these always on a full moon to drive the remedy into my system as that has worked very well for me in the past.
All I can say is that Foll. was just one part of the process. I'm still in peri-menopause (at the age of 47 now). I consulted a classical homeopath earlier this year who determined that I was exhibiting the truest signs of Lachesis. I had to agree. When I read about the remedy, I was floored as I felt I was reading about me. She told me that Lachesis cannot be taken too frequently or in too low a potency so I started with 200C and took that twice, with 16 days separating it. I felt it exhausted quite quickly and so I waited one month and took 1M. That has been helpful and I have not taken it since. Prior to that, I went 81 days without a period. The Lachesis seems to have helped bring it back on a pretty regular basis (26 to 29 days.)
I had my estrogen levels checked and I was estrogen dominant again. This explained the emotional ups and downs. My nutritionist recommended using something called Chinese Bitters and Curcuma/Bupleurum tinctures to gently move the fire out of my liver. She also had me start a supplement called Methyl-SP that I do from ovulation to menses. It makes a huge difference in my breast tenderness and irritability. Between the herbal tinctures for my liver and the Methyl-SP, I've noticed a marked reduction in my estrogenic mood fluctuations. The Lachesis didn't touch that. Perhaps I should have tried a higher potency of Lachesis but honestly, when I saw my estrogen levels off the chart, I knew I had to do something to remedy it and working via the liver made the most sense since the "bad" estrogen (i.e., cancer causing estrogen) wasn't getting detoxed in my liver like it should have. I stay completely away from ALL phytoestrogenic herbs, foods and supplements (soy, flax, fenugreek, etc.) so I'm not contributing to the influx of estrogen in my system.
It's been a learning experience and I'm still learning. For now, Lachesis seems more fitted to my situation than Foll. Either way, I'll be happier than a pig in s--t when I'm done with perimenopause and can enter menopause healthy and vibrant.
