You're basically telling him to read, read, read, and read until he somehow discovers the solution to his problem himself. He has been trying to do this for years and years and years without success, because he does not know all his symptoms, only the obvious ones.

It would have made far, far more sense for people around him, whether in a living or work situation, to observe him and determine which aspects of him are, in fact, symptoms.

Don't worry, we'll find someone else to help him find these people. It would probably make more sense to talk to the local news media in the area to where he wishes to move, on the New Jersey side of the Hudson (North) river from New York City.
