Carlene.....talking about licking......I read about the lick granuloma in your dog......if your dog is suffering from tension/stress or grief or homesickness and possibly is a bit quiet and/or withdrawn and concerned about things and doesn`t express itself as usual, you can try Ignatia 30x or 30c (or 30k), one daily dose for some weeks till distinct improvement. (Other remedies to bear in mind are Selenium metallicum and Silica/Silicea)

Paint the sore spot(s) with Calendula mother tincture or with Hypercal, 2-3 times a day for a few days as necessary. Later you can use a dilution of one of them.
