Unfortunately full explanation would need several pages and can`t be done here in short posts, but I`ll give you a bit more.

Miasmatic and constitutional symptoms are not further types of symptoms, but represent a different method of classification which, when taken together, reveal a definite pattern that points towards either a particular constitutional type or a miasmatic influence.

Both may be present in the same case, as the two concepts overlap to some degree. It`s a broad-based interpretation of the sick animal`s underlying type.

Symptoms from the mental and general levels are most commonly involved in this and considerations of bodily confirmation are also relevant.

E.g. a strong liking for heat will point to certain remedies, while a strong aversion to heat will suggest others.

Similarly, a heavily built conformation will bring emphasis to remedies that would not rate so highly in a fine-boned animal (e.g. a dog).

And of course, if possible, the choice of remedy should always be made by using the full range of information that is available.

Experienced homeopathic professionals are able to recognize miasmatic symptoms which are indications of particular types of reaction on the part of the body that point to one of the miasmatic influences.

Signs and symptoms that indicate one of these processes at work are termed miasmatic symptoms.

Without this (miasmatic) knowledge one doesn`t know either that within the hierarchy of symptoms miasmatic symptoms point to a degree of dominance in the activity of one particular miasm.

The concepts of constitutional symptoms and miasmatic symptoms are always very important to bear in mind during the case-taking process.

For different ways of (non-miasmatic) vet. prescribing see topic called : Local, organic-specific, pathological and functional vet. prescribing ......on this forum.

To prevent prolonged suffering (!) as much as possible in any animal it`s still my opinion that these kind of complicated cases should always be done/taken properly by an experienced homeopathic professional.
