Hi Barb,
Kneading (like purring) can mean she is expressing pleasure, is in distress or could be reversion to infantile behavior (which the injury caused). In this case speculating I feel is useless and was using the symptom as "restlessness"; however last night and this morning she stopped doing it and I would now describe her as lathargic. I spent all night on her case, she vomitted bile all day yesterday and had one BM consisting of soft, bloody stool which turned into more liquidy diarrhea.
Symptoms:
frequent vomit of small to medium amounts of yellow/white bile
soft, blood streaked stool at the beginning of bowel movement which ends in a puddle of brown diarrhea (frequency and volume normal)
core temp last night was 37.8 degrees (low side of normal; no fever)
no sinus discharges
eyes clear, somewhat staring
lathargic but alert
I've never seen this cat sleep
lies on her stomach in upright position
abdomin very hard, slightly distented
no appetite
no thirst
I came up with ARS, SUL and PULS; but so far I have refrained from giving her anything. I was troubled by:
ARS: not restless, no thirst
SUL: no heat, no apparent infection
PUL: no discharges
Can anyone see anything here that I am missing or misinterpreting?
Intestinal blockage could be a posibility, effects from old injury could also play a role.
I force fed her a small amount this morning to see if she could keep it down.
