I have my bunny files now and will edit more specifically:
Cheri was born 6/23/99. We got her from a breeder and she is a house bunny. Very motherly with the other bunnies and cute and mischief. At first, we fed her organic fruits, vegi's and nuts, but with in apprx. a yr. or so she couldn't eat them without getting diarrhea. She was fixed 05/09/01 and also put on Albon Suspension (penicillen?) with a liquid probiotic (Like I mentioned before, I'm not into allopathic med's, but my home remedies weren't working). We started only feeding her dry food and nuts which helped. The diarrhea persisted and she was again put on Albon Suspension 01/29/02. We were told she had a parasite. During the summer she plays outside in the country, sometimes staying out all night if we can't catch her. The last couple of times I let her out on the deck during the cold days, she didn't want to be out, always sneaking back inside (I don't know if this is from the weather, trauma of meeting up with a wild animal i.e. a racoon, trauma from getting a parasite, or spoiled as being a house bunny). She drinks purified water only. The meds seemed to help some the first and second time, but it eventually gets worse: 1 month ago she was having diarrhea once a day around 11am. Now it's sporatic 2-4 times a day. Sometime just gushy pellets stuck to her and I catch it before it gets conglomerated. This is a real hassel for Cheri I'm sure, and us. She could show occasional indications of pain. Please help. It's too bad I can't feed her her yummy treats anymore, she loved them so. She eats and drinks regularly (dry pellets, occasional fasting with pumpkin seeds (a de-wormer), spring or distilled water, and powder probiotics). Thanks and hope you can help! ~Susan & Cheri
By the way Dr. Leela, I've never heard of Chaparro Amergosa mother tinture. Is it the same as Quassia? Can I procure it at a health food store? I called my local one but one girl didn't know what I was talking about. I'll look into it further.
Nice to hear from you Anne (you helped me out a long time ago).I have sulpher, but as I mentioned, the diarrhea is no longer just at 11am. Or shall I be calling it, mushy clusters.
AND, please tell me, when replies say 1 dose, does that mean 1 dose once a day?
