I think that this student is perceptive and understanding of homeopathy to have made such an analogy.

I differ a bit from what is said here. Isn't the strength of a potency established, constant and consistent?
However, I do see that we can increase the effectiveness of the potency by different methods of application. This is a skill to know how and when to use what method.
Example: what remedies follow each other as to what remedies make another remedy stop working or enhance the benefit of the remedy. This certainly makes the remedy appear to have a variance in strength or healing ability. If a remedy is blocked then no strength will show.
