Barb, Dunno where you got "Polio does not exist in the USA and hasn't for some time so unless you plan to travel to countries where it exists it is stupid to get the vaccine - there is ZERO risk of contracting polio." But, you better check this information again.

Polio IS alive and kicking in the USA. And, most of the cases of people who have 'recently' contracted polio are those who've been around babies who've had the live virus vaccine (the pink liquid given to babies and children). I personally know of a grandfather who changed his granddaughter's nappy/diaper who contracted it from her. It's passed in bodily fluids/excretions.

If anyone is changing the nappy of a baby who's had the polio vaccine in the previous two months -- they are most certainly at risk (if they are indeed susceptible to polio) of catching polio. Really important to wash your hands! Thoroughly (and hope you're not susceptible to polio).

Mumps isn't dangerous to all boys. I also personally know one man who had mumps at age 8 (quite a nasty case too AND he had HAD the blahdy vaccine!) -- and went on to have produce 5 children. But the risk is there. Even so, it's treatable with homeopathy for sure.

Nursing your baby will only give them any anti-bodies you have. If you've never actually had measles (only the vaccine!) then your baby will not be immune to measles, for example. And there is even some doubt that baby will be immune if you have actually had measles. In any case, measles isn't life threatening unless there is undernourishment and malnutrition.

There is loads of information on the internet, Fitness First. And, really, it's your responsibility as a parent to gather as much information as possible so that you can make an informed decision.

I agree with JohnO regarding giving remedies ONLY when there are indications they are needed. Btw, if a child has a response after a vaccine --- it's good --- it means his vital force is rallying against the 'morbific influence'. If there is no reaction --- that's when I'd get worried!

Good luck with your search for info. Try Sheri Nakken's site. Don't have the link off hand -- but I'm sure you can find it on a google search or someone else might post it for you.
