Medical officer - OK OK !!!

I think I now understand what you are getting at. In my first post on the subject I said that Coryza and Catarrh are the same. By this I meant that they were both to do with mucus production and over production (sycotic miasm)and I think everyone(???) would agree with this!!!!
Re the classical homeopathy bit, what can I say? I will try to explain. In MY mind when I say classical homeopathy I mean that in chronic (constitutional) case taking I prescribe one remedy, minimum dose and wait!!! This is as opposed to those homeopaths who give more than one remedy at a time, what I call eclectic prescribing. The homeopaths on this BB tend to be of the "classical" prescriber type.
Now please don't come back to me and say that on another thread I have suggested the continuous prescribing of Symphytum + tissue salts because a) this IMHO is an acute problem b)I am quite happy to prescribe tissue salts at the same time as a remedy in potency because I do not believe that they work on the same energy level and I believe that they can complement each other.
Re the allopathic + homeopathy at the same time:- In UK if an allopathic doctor has prescribed a drug, we are forbidden to overturn this without the prescribing doctor's permission. In some cases , as I am sure you will agree, immediate cessation of the prescribed drug would be positively dangerous e.g. anti depressants, steroids. I work with the patient and their prescribing allopatic doctor to cut down the medication once the patient has noticed a positive effect from the homeopathy. Patients come to me and have to pay from the National Health Service (NHS) which is free in the UK, because they are not happy with the results that they are getting. So once their presenting comnplaint is improving then we start cutting down on the allopathic drugs.
Re the contraceptive pill this has to be a patient's choice . I am quite happy to prescribe for patients on the pill and I do get the results that they require despite. Re HRT - once homeopathy has helped their presenting complaint then I will suggest coming off the HRT and giving homeopathic support during this. Yes I know that our remedies will work better if the patient came off the HRT first but this would then bring back all the symptoms that the patient went on it for and there is no way they will put up with this. Better I have found to treat constitutionally first and then deal with the HRT issue later. I have patients that are on various Rheumatoid Arthritis drugs when they first come to see me and after a constitutional remedy we can start cutting them down. When patients have been on these drugs for many years you can't just take them off them just like that. And anyway , as I have explained I am not allowed to.
I hope the above gives you more insight to the way we have to work in the UK. We have to educate the population about homeopathy as many have no idea what it is. At least we are able to practice on our own which is more than can be said for colleagues in many parts of the USA.
I also am a Master Practitioner in Meridian Therapies (mainly EFT, see
www.emofree.com) and use this very successfully in conjunction with homeopathy but I presume that you lot from India and Pakistan would disapprove of this as well. Personally I am beginning to think that we need separate discussion boards as it is becoming difficult to have a civil discussion at times.
