Long used as a medicine in Italy...and the source of a "bitter" tonic preparation used as a digesttif, called "Cynar"

Sankaran has pointed out, correctly I think, that a person in need of a specific remedy will often seek out or crave that remedy in its crude form.

Interesting to see this concept reflected in the repertory!
