Dear Rajan, dear David
I want to continue, where David left it and ask the question in general:
Question:
How do we know, that the remedy is chosen homoeopathically?
Answer:
If the Symptom-complex of the remedy chosen is similar to the symptom-picture present in the patient.
Question:
How do we know the symptom-complex of the remedy?
Answer:
By trying the substance in healthy individuals to that extend, that no more new symptoms are brought out.
Question:
How do we know, that the remedy from our supplier is identical to the proving substance?
Answer:
If the remedy supplied is made from the same source as the proving substance.
As regards Nosodes:
They clearly lack complete provings, which makes it difficult to apply them safely.
How can we select a remedy without knowing its virtues in advance?
The source question is also a problem. There are no identical sources available for nosodes.
Even, if we might have selected according the meagre symptoms we have Tub., we can be in no-way sure, that the remedy we are supplied with is identical to the substance proven.

>>>Secondly, EVERY remedy can produce unwanted effects if it is the wrong remedy. However, an aggravation is not unwanted, although it is certainly uncomfortable. An aggravation is usually a good sign, and shows that the remedy is working.<<<<
David,
Hahnemann and myself are here of a different opinion.
And to be precise,--- just that you can pass it onto your students correctly—
Hahnemann limits the homeopathic aggravation, which is the slight increase of the one or the other disease-symptom, to a few hours after the application of the remedy in par.: 157 Org.
Any other aggravation is a bad sign, of an unsuitably chosen remedy, and the case then would need further investigation.
Quote:
If a remedy is wrong, it will do one of several things.
1. Move the symptoms around - cause them to change location or character.
2. Create a proving - symptoms will appear that are characteristic of the remedy but new to the patient.
3. Nothing will happen - the person is not sensitive to that remedy or their illness is stronger than the remedy, and so remains unchanged.<<

Another possibility is:
4. the remedy imprints on the liveforce and makes the patient incurable homoeopathically.
Nosodes tend to do that more frequently, than other remedies, and it takes a lot of time and effort to remove these imprints, so that well indicated remedies work orderly again. I am not successful in every case where that happened.
So—there is danger when remedies are given in an non-curative way.
