Dear Karen,
The reason for the water and succussing before each dose is that succussing changes the potency ever so slightly so that the possibility of a previous dose being antidoted by the next dose is eliminated. Also, less chance of aggravations occurring this way.
If you would feel better using a 6C three times a day rather than a 30C, that's OK, but three days probably would not be enough for such a low potency. Also, a 30C once a day is fine, but may need to be taken for a week or so. You really won't know until you see the child's reactions and you would adjust your dosing according to progress or lack of progress.
